Thanks!

NeurotechNewsletter

Yeah there are some. Check it out. It’s all free

Good question. Yeah, there’s definitely some overlap. Take Inner Cosmos, for example, which could sit under BCI or neuromodulation. Or Rune Labs, which could be classified under Neuro-AI, sensing or diagnostics. Even companies like Nudge and Forest Neurotech could fall under both focused ultrasound and BCI, depending on how you’re defining them.

For this graphic, I’ve put each company into the category that best represents its predominant technology or what it’s most known for. The full market map has more detailed classifications, but I wanted to keep this one relatively simple.

Usually I post all the companies and a map but Reddit is being shitty about posting links to companies. Plus the maps are an after thought after a week of research and conversations, so can be riddled with errors. So it’s just the numbers from now on and the substack if you want to know more

https://neuro.reccy.dev/ tracks all the BCI start ups. Over 1000 companies on there

From now on I’ll just post the article which I spend all week on, rather than the map which gets a fraction of the attention. My bad for leading with an AI generated image. My goal is to focus on the research, which is done in collaboration with the local neurotech community . The map is meant as a snapshot, not the whole thing.

NeurotechNewsletter

the land mass seems bit squashed. Main emphasis is on the company list

NeurotechNewsletter

Thanks! I saw your message on LI too. I’ll get this updated in the next major haul of the European map.

NeurotechNewsletter

I spent an aggravating amount of time try to get this map as accurate as possible so its fair to criticize some of the city placements. The map is a snap shot of the wider company list.

NeurotechNewsletter

Yeah it’s a pretty niche market.
Lots of companies out there, just not all in 1 place

NeurotechNewsletter

I’ve done a wider Asian one before but since then I’ve found so many more. I absolutely need to do a new Chinese one. It’s on the list

NeurotechNewsletter

They’re not
I just had a nightmare getting this even remotely close to the correct locations for some reason. At some point I’ll get it tweaked. For now, it’s more about the 56 companies

NeurotechNewsletter

I think it’s because this includes the ventral nerve cord, making it the first complete CNS for the fly rather than just a brain

NeurotechNewsletter

Another great one is The Business of Neurotech by Adam Fraser. I actually interviewed him last week

NeurotechNewsletter

Im actually working on getting this updated as im going to write a geography piece on certain states in the US at some point. In the meantime, i'm trying to get this updated but right now has 720ish companies: https://neuro.reccy.dev/

The old map had 54 broader neuro and neuro adjacent companies. The reassessment found 45 active and current companies with a HQ in France.

NeurotechNewsletter

Zeker weten. I’m working on a Scandinavian piece but the next one after that will be a Benelux piece as Belgium has some great tech too.

NeurotechNewsletter

Appreciate that, im going to delete this post and repost a more refind map. The substack article has all the URLs and analysis, thats why I pay wall it. Whenever I post URLs here I get my posts suspended.

NeurotechNewsletter

Ok feedback taken. I spent all the time building the article and company list and the graphic was more of a quick snapshot which I didn’t double check (because my emphasis was on finishing the article)

I’m going to work on rebuilding it and then repost

NeurotechNewsletter

Ok ok the map is distorted. I wanted to create a high level view of where the companies are based

Here’s the full company breakdown: https://www.reddit.com/u/NeurotechNewsletter/s/2RxCUyt9PP

The image is AI yeah. I’m not a graphic designer, or a
Cartographer. It’s just a way I wanted to show the hubs in France.
