I’ve heard of this one but have never met anyone that has actually tried it- I have a lot of questions on this one!

Okay but how was the abott?👀👀

I have only had this when I’m using a site that bleeds like crazy. Could be a defective box of sensor or if a new transmitter could be that. Either way call dexcom for replacements!

What a shame. Ive been using G6 for years, trialed G7 for a month and HATED it. Told my endo the 7 was only a slight step up from Medtronic (while G6 was life changing) and asked her to stop promoting it for her own credibility’s sake. All my friends and family who upgraded despite my advice regretted it because if the crazy off readings and reduced insertion site options. G6 allows me to use upper forearm sites with incredible readings non stop- which the G7 failed on both the ability for placement and reliable readings. Honestly, Ive been considering going back on injections so maybe I’ll ditch tandem all together and switch to Libre until they figure this massive FAIL out.

I used to eat these as a young kid and a while back I had a dream about eating one and had such a hard time describing them to my friends and family to figure out what was in my dream. Couldn’t figure it out til I walked past them in the store and it clicked. Such a unique snack I’m so happy i rediscovered them

I feel like cheez it is scared of spice. I wish they would make a “kickin spicy” series or something that had all their “hot” flavors but actually hot

When I say young, I mean less than 35-40 yrs old. Its definitely still important to see a doctor, but I would stop reading all the diabetes scare posts for now. Just try to ground yourself, drink water, eat well, and if you truly feel its urgent don’t be scared to catch a ride to an urgent care or ER. You’re gonna be okay

Well, I’m no doctor but I am type 1 diabetic. So I can tell you some symptoms that would occur before these if you were to be diabetic- Early signs of diabetes would be: increased thirst- and not just kind of thirsty- i mean chugging water and you still feel thirsty. Like wanting to chug it until you literally cant. Peeing ALL THE TIME- of course, due to the increased thirst. After a few days (or weeks if youre somehow unknowingly doing it all right) inability to keep food down and then persistent vomiting Fatigue, feeling like syrup through your veins and you feel too heavy to move comfortably In my case, dry skin to the point you feel like youre burning.

as for type 2 diabetes (which is less likely since you seem to be young) i have heard that it often comes with the fatigue and thirst portions, as well as occasional hypoglycemia, when you eat less- which would likely feel something like shakiness, weakness and dizziness.

Like i said, this is just experience and i am not a doctor

I was part of a study 2010-2011 so quite some time ago and that involved daily visits to the clinic running the program but with the evolution of science and technology, I’m going to say they will likely either give you a specific sensor to use that is baseline for the study or provide a prick test kit and instructions on what times/situations you need to test. Possibly both. But they should give you the rundown before it starts. My bet is they will have you use a CGM like dexcom due to the fact they can get much more information from something like that.

The worst low I can remember, I was about 14-16 home alone and tested my bg while on the verge of passing out. I remember it reading 13 and then I laid down and blacked out. Next thing I remember is waking up next to a plate of pizza rolls, still frozen with all the crusts eaten off. Like a little rat had got to them. I still laugh about thag choice of snack to this day

Fake a super important phone call. I work in a public facing fieldwork position and use this anytime I go low when with a client. “I’m so sorry, I have to take this call, give me a few minutes and I’ll be back with you” than I book it back to my car and return when I’m not on the brink of death

When my dad goes low at night, he used to enter this fugue/ sleepwalking type state where he would literally shove or hit anyone who tried to approach him while he made his way to the fridge. He never remembered any of these situations and was profusely apologetic when told about his actions. everyone learned to only watch from a far and never approach when this happened, so it wasnt really a huge issue and only occurred maybe three or four times. It was also pretty evident that he was not conscious, as his eyes were glazed and he was not verbally responsive. Not even a grunt if you were yelling to him.

I personally dont have this sleepwalking issue, and I’ll admit to being pretty cranky with my wife when I’m low, but never would lay a hand on her. I dont even know how you muster up the energy to hurt someone during a hypo tbh.

I think if it were truly a low BG symptom, precautions could have been taken by the ex to ensure she is not putting your friend in danger when she is low. Communication about how to change the outcome should be discussed after every low that goes poorly. For example, my wife knows I’m rude past a certain point, so we have discussed that if I’m behaving that way, its okay for her to go to the next room while i recollect myself.

Did you find out if it works?👀

Depends on the officer you get. In Texas, code officers are generally not able to enforce an odor or gas alone but in this situation they should at least check it out for any possible issues. This would also depend on the other tenant allowing access to the unit and willingly starting the machine. At the end of the day it could end up falling on your landlord in some way or could get written off as a civil matter. If possible, it may be helpful to show the code officer a written report from the plumber.

What type of problems did you have with them?
