The laws being used to arrest these people have been around since about the year 2000, and the annual number of arrests have been increasing every year, now averaging more than 10,000 every year at the least. I'm not trying to just bullshit and spread trolling bullshit here, it really sounds like y'all have a problem.

You should actually be concerned with why the UK doesn't track arrests made due to social media specifically.

OK. It's just an archive site for UK journalism though. The TLDR is that they arrest thousands of people every year for things that are said via technological communication, even if those things do not involve criminal activities. There are plenty of documented cases involving simple criticism of the government
