It reminds me of the wooden boards of the hull, the worn leather of book bindings and cutlass straps, and the tanned, rugged faces of many of the crew. It also looks how I imagine everything below decks smells, musty, tobacco, wood, fecal matter and a tinge of green from the vomit

I’m new to this game and I appreciate most of your points but I gotta say that last paragraph makes you sound a bit unhinged. “Only care about having fun”? My brother are you a Disney villain? People can choose to play magic however they like and commander is an accessible format bringing new players to the game. I get that the casual nature of Comm and how it’s kinda taken over can be frustrating for veteran players but I fail to see how new players like myself are in any way harmful to standard or any competitive magic
