But these celebrities and million/billionaires who opt for surrogacy are exactly the type who can afford a medically complex child. They can afford to hire legions of nannies and nurses.

My toddlers love to help! My parents never really wanted us to cook, clean, or work unless it was academic or athletic. They cut my food, poured my drinks, and tied my shoes till I was a teenager. My husband’s mother just let him live in filth and never taught him even to load a dishwasher or pick up dirty clothes. It was almost comically rough for a few years when we moved in together. I didn’t know how to turn on a stove and neither of us had ever washed a dish etc. I do not want that for my kids. I’m not running a sweat shop, but my 4 year old can cut his own fruit, operate basic appliances, and pour his own drinks. He is so proud of his skills.

If sis is giving you rules in your own home she’s doesn’t sound too helpful to me. I never liked a nursing cover. They are hot and just stupid imo. I would suggest she brings a drape and covers her daughter while you breastfeed if she’s that worried about a normal part of infant care.

My whole family has bad teeth, and we do tend to see the dentist for more than a few mins per visit. I’ve needed cavities filled and root canals after my pregnancies unfortunately. Knowing this I am anal about my kids dental hygiene, and they do mostly interact with the hygienist when they go in. Their dentist really just pops in to answer questions. I always have a list of them typed out which I assume is not the norm lol

It’s a major cause of early childhood death. My husband and I are not handy people, but we bought a drill and figured it out.

Crying is ok. Especially when you talk through how you are feeling. As a mother of two please hide that book. Traumatizing yourself that way every day is painful for everyone involved. The hardest part of motherhood is balancing our needs with our kids, and it’s ok for your need to trump their want. My heart goes out to you! You sound like a very caring mother!

My family has been in this country since the 1600s. My ancestors fought in every war. They didn’t fight for a piece of fabric. They fought for our rights and freedom. At this juncture burning a flag is an unapologetically brave and patriotic act. No in public school we’d say ms. Mrs. Or Mr. followed by their last name. Though I went to school on the south so instead of Mr it was usually Coach last name
