i found that the level 66s were fine, then came the 67s, and they murdered me.

in the end, i gave up and got my Excelsior to T10, now it does all 3 Vger daily tasks by killing level 68 Fighters, a much easier tasks.

Exactly, i am more than happy with my FW16, it’s far better than its predecessors, and due to its very nature, i hope it will last a lot longer.

Is it everything i’d like? Probably not. But it is what it is, and if it wasn’t, i wouldn’t have bought it.

this came up before, and has happened to me, prevailing theory is you shot the freighters shields most likely.

the ability for it to stop following me around when i am near, but just wander around the area, instead of me turning on and off the AI.

Yes, if you’re in a corvette, just unsit/sit before warping, otherwise do it in a station or wherever your ship is, but stay seated until you dock with the freighter

i’ve had this happen repeatedly, i either reload and warp again, or carry on until the next encounter.

at first i thought it was only Gek freighters, but it doesn’t seem to be, always annoying though, as you can’t even get out of your seat if you want to reload.

No, it refers to application settings, which used to be stored in ini files on Windows prior to 9x, hence the 16bit part.

It’s still useful for portable settings you don’t really need permanently or don’t want to keep on the machine for example, where as multi-platform applications may use json these days.
