They remove the real link for copyright. It's fine for them to link to people talking about the site though, and the reddit is on the results. The reason the reddit isn't at the top of the search results is just because of SEO. I don't think it's a stretch to say the reddit is the most relevant result they can legally share, I'm not sure how the fakes are getting away with it if they're actually serving the host streams but that might be solvable with reports.

That's not what SEO is. Search engine optimization floods search providers with garbage keywords and semi-relevant but ultimately useless information to push their site to the top of search engines. Look-alike sites are only one way this happens, because the names of the main site itself is a keyword.

If you've ever seen those websites with pages and pages of gibberish with no service or function that's whats happening. Even pages that ostensibly provide a service like writing articles or hosting discussion exploit SEO to drive ad revenue, and to these people getting clicks and views on their ads is the main goal, so content and quality of the service take a backseat.

SEO is fucking stupid. I wish the search providers would ban this shit but they literally don't care because it doesn't affect their profits somehow.
