No, no, you don’t understand. You’re only supposed to listen to my opinion. Everyone else is either a grifter or a shill depending how I feel about it.

Agreed. I understand that OP is frustrated, but they’re probably in the best position to help their kitty.    From the post it seems they don’t have kids or other pets and can afford to support their cat financially.  And they also have years of history and a bond. They clearly care a lot.

I don’t really see how rehoming the cat could be any better. Any new owner would have the same challenges and probably even more.

  1. Magic is generally better in 1, but it was basically just spamming mana potions. Combat in 2 is much smoother imo. It’s also impossible to accidentally hit a civilian with magic in 2. And it’s nice that they added in aoe magic effects for every spell too.

2.Fable 1 gives you like 2-3 armor suits not including reskins meanwhile fable 2 has dozens of more outfits than 2. And with the dozens of dyes available that can be individually applied, you can customize your outfits way more than in fable 1. You can also dye your hair and facial hair.  Clothing in fable 2 do give stats just not stats in combat. And you can get a suit of armor from the dlc.

  1. What rpg elements exist in 1 that don’t exist in 2? Enchantments are also in fable 2. You can min max in fable 2 as well.

Here are some reasons I prefer fable 2 to fable 1

Better life sim elements. You can get married multiple times and have kids. Your kids can be kidnapped and need rescuing. You can work as a bartender or blacksmith. You can buy and rent any property you can afford (which is over a million in real estate value) and collect income passively from anywhere even when you’re not online.

Better interactions with npcs. All npcs have names. Your emotes have an actually noticeable effect on your relationship with npcs. Emotes can be extended for greater gains or failed for humorous effect. Each npc has their own personality and likes and dislikes. Instead of just being liked or disliked you can be seen as scary, beloved, hated, silly, attractive or ugly.

The dog who can fight with you and help you find treasure. Also has pretty big narrative importance. And he’s affected by morphing too.

More Nuanced morality. Instead of just being “good” or “evil” you can now have different labels on both spectrums of corruption to purity and good and evil. These differences are reflected in morphing.

You can become king or queen of all of Albion.

You don’t get a major scar after getting tapped by a practice weapon in the tutorial. And you don’t look unreasonably older than the characters who are supposed to be older than you.  I like both of these systems in theory but they were implemented poorly.

The main ending has 3 potential endings instead of just 2.

You can play the whole game couch co-op or online.

You can actually play as a woman. Talk about roleplaying freedom.

I guess it depends how you define shipping. If it’s just imagining two fictional characters as a couple and writing stories about them how is it any different than all the romance novelists out there?

In order to engage with or create any fiction properly you have to be invested. If you’re reading a fantasy novel and constantly thinking “this is fake. It’s all made up” you’re going to have a bad time.

Obviously you shouldn’t let fiction consume your life or prevent you from seeing reality, but that could apply to any genre of fiction not just romance and shipping.

Iirc my school had a big unit on fiction vs nonfiction in second grade.

After that it should be very clear that Harry Potter is not real.

Yes, I liked to believe it was real when I was reading it. And yeah me and my friends would play pretend that we were witches and our fourth  grade teacher was Snape, but at the end of the day we knew it wasn’t real.

11 years old is more than old enough to understand and identify works of fiction.

Just wanted to add, I have CP and was a tip-toe walker as a kid due to spasticity.

After years of serial casting, orthotics, and PT I no longer walk on my toes though I still need to wear feet braces with my shoes to maintain it.

I just wanted to mention that It is definitely possible to improve this condition if you have access to and are able to adhere to strict regimens (which isn’t for everyone).

Also, someone else mentioned Thomas’s toe walking is likely a symptom of autism and not CP. I’d agree with that because he doesn’t seem to exhibit the pronounced scissor gait which is also associated with spasticity from CP and is a lot harder to fix (I still haven’t dropped that one).

While I appreciate your thoughts on the game and I think you bring up several good points, you should probably delete the part about Taash regarding their gender identity as the entire post will likely get removed because of that.

Mods are pretty serious about cracking down on any discussions of Taash’s gender, especially critiques or misgendering.

On top of the renown system I feel like it’s easy to forget just how many scales fable had to measure your actions: good vs evil, pure vs corrupt, loved vs hated, scary vs silly, ugly vs attractive, weak vs strong, plus the comprehensive stats list.

Even if morality morphing is dropped I hope they bring back a few of these features.

And your actions did get perceived differently depending on who you were interacting with. NPCs had preferences and personalities which affected the way they perceived you. Everyone had an Opinion on you that was only partially influenced by your general morality alignment.

The npc in your screenshot is pretty simple, but you can find npcs with up to 5 traits like good or fun-loving or raunchy or demanding.

At least people repeating “hr is in the room” aren’t getting paid a professional critic salary for it lol.

I agree with what you said, but the nail in the coffin for me was that you can honestly tell her you won’t support her, and she will turn against you and make up lies to discredit you at the landsmeet. And, even then she can still lose.

If her voice means so little that even the nobles at the landsmeet will side against the literal queen of ferelden and trust the word of relative nobodies over Anora and Loghain, she has already lost as a ruler. Even if you do put her on the throne after that, her rule will be either short lived or riddled with troubles.

She has appeared extremely weak in front of all the nobles in the landsmeet, and they will likely feel comfortable taking advantage of her and exploiting her weakness. She played her trump card, and it didn’t work.

Alistair at his absolute weakest (solo, unhardened, no chancellor hof or consort, lost landsmeet) is still stronger than Anora at her weakest. He still has Eamon to guide him and shield him from the landsmeet. And, At worst the nobles can just say they didn’t support him in the vote because he didn’t have true authority or credibility, and they didn’t owe him allegiance. It was too much of a leap of faith. For a noble, supporting the existing regent is the safe option, and she can still lose.

The regent can do horrible things to the rest of ferelden and still pretty much get away with it.  But, once you’ve lost the support and respect of the landsmeet, it will be virtually impossible to reclaim it.

Tbh  that she can lose the throne at all shows to me that she is a weak ruler.  If she were competent, the nobles wouldn’t even consider putting someone else on.

That’s something wrong with the patriarchal society. Not something wrong with women/womenhood. And reinforcing that system can be internalized misogyny.

Also the idea that nonbinary people choose to be so because they don’t like the circumstances of gender in our society and not because that’s just who they are is questionable. It has the same energy as “you’re not trans society just makes you feel that way” which is a transphobic narrative used to dismiss real trans and nonbinary people who would exist even if we lived in a perfect utopia where sexism didn’t exist.

Btw. Taash is nonbinary and they use they/them pronouns.

This just makes me understand better why da2 and Veilguard are my least favorite dragon age games.

Inquisition was a step in the right direction by restoring races, origins, and greater companion control and then Veilguard threw it all away.

No_Routine_7090

Because the pro-rpg team left or was ousted and now it’s just the action proponents under one banner. Anthem, andromeda, and Veilguard feel like proof of that. Regardless of the game title, everything BioWare makes from here on out will probably feel the same.
