Whoa. That's rough. I'm sorry to hear.
I'm hypermobile pretty much everywhere, but it's not extreme like your case. You have me wondering now, though. Now that I'm getting up there in years and less regularly physically active, some joints/muscles seemingly randomly decide to just hurt for weeks and months on end. Maybe I oughta join you, my brother/sister in beans.

I'm curious, are you an anxious or self conscious person, by chance?
I am. I really don't like doing some things. Or doing things when I'm around other people. Working out in a gym is one of those things for me. It's a high anxiety experience. My mind is telling me to quit and gtfo because I'm uncomfortable. After lots of exposure it's easier, but it took a while.
I do it anyway though, because I know it's good for me, and I want to take care of my body and invest in my health.
I wonder if there are any parallels for you here.
NotSpartacus
I'm curious if you're willing to share, why medically speaking, do you need that much protein?

Dragonlance. Big sprawling series. Some main authors, many other authors. I've probably read 40 of them. DnD based world. Dragons are intelligent, varied, and hella powerful. Having one on your side is a pretty much defacto win if the other side doesn't have one.

There's nothing as good as real calls. Nothing.
It's like trying to learn poker with fake money. Sure you can learn the rules, and the mechanics, but until there's a real stake involved for all parties, it's all fake. People do shit they wouldn't do when there's real money on the line.
Roleplays and post mortems with fellow reps is the next best thing because you're working with real experiences and people who get it.

No idea about scrambling the data but if you setup a pihole you can stop them from phoning home and spying on you. Better, simpler move is just to never give them an internet connection and ignore all the Bluetooth stuff.

Oregon reliably votes blue nationally, yes.
Bend is pretty neutral though, isn't it?

For women there's the lead singer of a local band who sleeps on his friends' couches, and there's dependable Dan.
Sexy/cool vs can reliably build a life with.

What's the point of your comment?
No shit you don't eat compost.
We know PFAs travel. From waste product to compost to soil to plant to food.

Thanks for sharing.
I'm in the US, I can only assume ours are worse here.

Huh?

The shooter had already been shot and killed inside the school when police arrived at the scene at about 1 p.m., police said. At an earlier news conference, police said there were multiple victims, including children, did not specify a number.
It’s not yet known who killed the shooter, but it “may have been a bystander,” said Sheila Miller, spokesperson for the Bend Police Department.
We know the shooter was shot.
We don't know that it was by someone else.
NotSpartacus
Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.
We don't know who killed the shooter. Odds are it was the shooter themself.

Mind sharing broadly where you live? I'm curious about your bad paper towels..

Now where I wonder about the whole thing is... is OP just a bot?
They didn't seem to actually answer you first question to them. They just kinda kept talking, like a poorly harnessed bot might.
NotSpartacus
Yeah, that's exactly my point.
If it's a disco call, to your earlier point, you have the time to do your research and present it a lot better than OP's line of questioning.
If it's a cold call.... omg no, not the time to have this conversation.
I've never spoken to a cold prospect who is psychologically primed to open up like this to the 'right' line of questions on a cold call. Hell, even getting someone to follow the path in a disco call is challenging, a lot of guards/walls come up if you don't do it well.

There are more like it, if you want a few in the bank:
When you find you've boarded the wrong train, get off at the next stop.
When you find you're being dragged by a horse, let go of the rope.
If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
One of the things I appreciate about how those are worded is the "if you find yourself" bit. Sometimes we lose ourselves - maybe in the heat of a moment, maybe we slip, whatever. And we come back to ourselves later. At that point we need to orient and decide. For me, building in safeguards, off ramps, de-escalation strategies, and allies who know when to check me in the moment, all help.

I agree. That's why I said
I wasn't trying to excuse her behavior
I don't understand what's going on here now, though.

Once you start to fail, there a ways to fail well. Allow me to explain.
Imagine you're a parent. You're carrying your baby. You slip at the top of the stairs.
In this split second you have a lot of decisions/reactions.
The worst would be hurling your child down the stairs as hard as you can and diving head over heels yourself. An unlikely choice, but nevertheless an option.
The best would be doing your damndest to ensure the baby lands gently, while you take the impact in a way that minimizes the risk you break a bone or even sprain anything.
(Are these the absolute worst and bests? No, they're just toward the extreme enough. Don't worry about the actual absolutes.)
So you 'failed.' So? More accurately or at least, more kindly, you made a mistake. Maybe the mistake was taking the 1st drink. Maybe the mistake was attaching to the thought/emotion, whatever it was, that led to the first drink. Maybe the mistake was attending the work function to start with, knowing how hazardous it might be to your sobriety.
Those are all things you can work through when you are not in a place of shame and self-judgement. Some of us cannot have booze in the house. Some of us cannot be at parties where alcohol is available. I think some of us can't even drive by open bars without risk. Understanding where you're at with all this is work you can do, if you want, on yourself. But again, when you're out of the hole.
Some people can use situations like this to yeet the baby. An excuse to throw a tantrum and make things so bad they absolve themselves of responsibility. It's perhaps a coping strategy learned from when tantrums were all we had? I don't know, don't much care. Regardless. Don't. Don't yeet the baby. Protect it. And yourself. Manage the loss of balance and ensuing fall like a person in control of their faculties.
If you want, consider an exercise now where you assign whatever roles/meanings you want to: the baby, your body, the stairs, whatever it was that made you slip in the first place, and if that was someone's fault or just one of those things that happens without blame (or at least external blame.)
edit for typos and clarity and b/c I just like writing with a keyboard a lot more than from a phone

Good for you?
What was modeled to us is often our blueprint. Sometimes its our anti-blueprint.
Regardless, I wasn't trying to excuse her behavior, only to shine a light on where it may be coming from. Knowledge is half battle.
NotSpartacus
I know, and I went with my response anyway.
Sometimes responding to sarcasm earnestly is funny. Sometimes.. we get this 🤷♂️
Did you ever get this sorted? I noticed this happening to me starting a few days ago.
