I used a DTMF app on my smartphone to press 4 to navigate to a certain phone tree menu.

Yes, I use a Touch Tone app to use menus and enter information. Just search App store or PlayStore for "DTMF" to find one.

When I call the pharmacy and it asks for my Rx number, I just tap the numbers on my smartphone screen and it plays the tones which are picked up by the Echo microphones.

It would be nice if there was a command like "Alexa, press star 2273" you could use during the call.

Guessing wake to music will arrive when the new Echo Spot "softball" alarm clock ships.

Just got it now 12 hours after the announcement.

Guessing they could let you accept calls too if the calls were VoIP and Amazon had an arrangement with the carrier. For instance the way NoMoRobo has an arrangement with my telco to block spam calls.
