I'm kind, honest, ethical and caring, but I'm not well adjusted, the world eats us alive.

Eww apps. Glad they realise a web form (and paper backup) is still necessary.

Yes the default keyboard in GOS is crap.

I use Openboard which is FOSS

It's a legacy result of the regulatory system and how they were approved, which in turn is based on the evidence base - what sorts of trials were funded and the demographics of the participants.

Ugh we don't want more AI enshittification.

They should stick them on the back of the appliance, not the front. And yeah I hate how they cheap out on the adhesive, leaving residue.

OctarineAngie

Has anyone experienced that?

Yes.

I'm replying as I find many of the other replies are superficial and not as helpful as they may think (this is not just depression, and USA-bias).

I admit I clicked on your post history and lo and behold, I see what I guessed, that you have chronic illness that can be disabling (severe pain and fatigue) in addition to any mental health diagnoses.

I too can't do much and am often depressed in a reactive way, because I have missed out on so much in life and continue to miss out. I also found those things you mention make me feel worse. And it's hard enough to find a therapist that understands disabling chronic illness these days and most psychological therapies are focused on able-bodied people. Some people also don't understand how mindfulness can be quite harmful for certain people, for example who suffer severe pain or other limitations.

I wish I had the answer, except to say keep trying to dig deeper, don't settle for only trying the superficial solutions that don't work.

I mean real estate agents are cunts so it follows that either they wouldn't have understood the political critique that was intended by the game Monopoly, or they know and want to rub it in.

Throttles on 200w bikes are still legal in some states and are very useful for accessibility for people with certain disabilities, see https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11-02/e-bike-electronic-bicycle-e-motorbike-state-laws-speed/105580790

OctarineAngie

This explains the laws, which have some differences between states.

Those electric motorcycles are the ones we shouldn't be calling 'e-bikes'...

OctarineAngie

The electric motorcycles that are leading to these types of fatalities already are banned from road use and importation.

Don't get them confused with e-bikes (despite so many journalists deliberately conflating the two), they are not the same.

As others have said, there shouldn't be ATP in circulation so you can't just do a blood test.

Extracellular ATP is one of the things that fatigue sensing muscle afferents focus on and, it is a bad sign, the brain uses it as one of the signals for fatigue - not just the sensation of fatigue, but it also triggers central fatigue via attenuation of motor cortex excitability (to better balance effort, ventilatory responses and output).

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24142455/

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27866119/

In ME/CFS patients, there is an objective test for increased afferent signalling post-exercise, it is the 2 Day CPET, where the ventilatory threshold occurring at a lower workrate reflects increased afferent feedback.

Sickness behaviour isn't the cause of the symptoms though, it's a description for how animals behave when they are sick - it is the behavioural response.

When we are sick, there are build up of immune complexes, immune responses that also trigger changes in things like microcirculation, this can result in altered metabolism (due to altered oxygen uptake) and the resulting peripheral afferent signals that lead to the brain responding with increased central fatigue (which is primarily an attenuation of motor cortex excitability).

Central fatigue is primarily a brain response to what is going on in the body to improve the balance between effort, ventilation and muscle output.

That is such a crap excuse, they can choose different EFTPOS terminals.

OctarineAngie

Is there an update on this?

OctarineAngie

Yeah, they're strongly underrepresented at the elite level because they don't actually have this hypothesized biological advantage. (Combined with discrimination)

OctarineAngie

That's well and good but, as an example it is going to have a real negative effect on health in the mean time. The USA was the medical research powerhouse of the world and it is being rotted by this administration.
