I mean, a Halo game will get out the door faster than the seven or eight years Halo 7 was originally taking to get released since it was being worked on after the Halo 2 remake, and since it was only being PITCHED a couple years ago. Whether this new game be any good…who knows? I’m hoping it’s not a total reboot, but a soft reboot of the post-Covenant galaxy; however, I’ll still play this next game, albeit with some trepidation.

If I understand correctly from this point in the video, the orange are original 2008 fossil bones and the blue are reconstructions. They haven’t made an excellent CoD game since Cold War in my opinion, and CoD has been the Activision side’s sole focus with Blizzard and King largely not managed by this team. I want this hail mary to work but it feels like a desperation play to have Halo 7 come out anytime soon because at least Activision knows how to throw bodies at a problem.

I think it’s more likely that they ignore whatever threat was established by the Banished in Infinite and do a soft reboot so Halo 7 doesn’t take like eight years.

They did plan on making better connective tissue between Halo and 2 in the remake they were working on before this change.
