It didn't. At all. In fact he made a point to mention multiple times that technology can be good, or bad, depending on the user and the institution. This was an encyclical about humanity and society, and the social doctrine of the church, and to reduce it to "anti AI manifesto" renders it a great injustice.

OiTheRolk

I keep hearing about shakshuka lately, I looked it up after seeing this post and I gotta say yours looks better than a lot of the photos online. So congrats on being the one who got me interested in the dish

Don't give oda ideas. Otherwise Usopp will end up having Nasal-Lunarian lineage, who are to Lunarians what Ancient Giants are to Giants...

OiTheRolk

That would be for their AI department. Finally we won't have to wait seven years for the next installment!

You're making it about you and your identity though. In what way are you bringing curiosity? You know that many people see the Church as an oppressive force that marginalizes and removes rights (not that it's true, however it is due to many people abusing religion for selfish reasons). Is inserting yourself in a discourse you're not a part of, in a way that closely resembles institutional intolerance, going to generate good will towards God?

Are you bringing His love to others or just flinging His name about like mud, to see if it sticks? The fact that you laugh, or use such terms as "antagonize and freak out" - and that other comment that refers to them as "these demons" make it very hard to believe that these actions are made with genuine faith.

You say you're sowing seeds. Yet you're just throwing them at rocks, and feeling accomplished for it. The seeds. All you're doing is attracting birds who eat them all up and stick around to see if there's more. It's a waste of seeds (already unwise), and it brings pests to the field. Like, no. We're all part of the same human body which is and has been uniting with Christ more perfectly for the past 2000 years. These are your brothers in your humanity. You can't treat them like "others", whose feelings are invalid as long as they stray far from God. Do you not think He looks upon each one of them with overabundant love and delight? Are not their hearts, and all that goes on in them, infinitely precious to Him? There is no evangelization without sharing in that genuine, God's love for others. Those posts come across like "a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal" (1 Cor 13 1), and does very little both for you and for those in the LGBT community, in promulgating our universal call to holiness (togetherness with God).

OiTheRolk

Would you appreciate the reverse? If someone was posting "happy pride month" on all sacred heart of Jesus posts?

They do not know Jesus, yet instead of bringing Him closer to them, you sow discord. Not apostolic of you.

I don't need the clown makeup anymore. Sea of sorrow was there even if we couldn't see it. I've been freed

You can get another oil upgrade, and probably some more spools and masks. Maybe you can find a helpful tool too? I don't know how much you've explored but you might just need to find a helpful upgrade. Other than that, speed and precision are good skills to work on

OiTheRolk

Here I was trying to figure out the sleight of hand... Meanwhile its just a gimmick

The term was made maybe in light of the inhumane approach to livestock, but it's definitely not a term made by them.

You treat an animal humanely by not causing it to suffer needlessly - emphasis on needlessly. They need space to move around, they need good quality food, a peaceful habitat - all of these are humane. But is killing an animal for food inhumane? No, because animals do it too. We are part of the food chain, so if anything id argue that we would be denying part of our humanity by denying our desire (and need even?) for meat. A bear does nothing unethical by killing a fish. Heck, the spider wasp does nothing wrong by paralyzing a spider with her painful venom, then injecting it with eggs so that it's larvae eat the poor creature alive, from inside out. So no, death in the animal kingdom cannot be seen as inherently unethical or inhumane.

As for your accusations, those aren't very nice. Of course I believe what I'm saying, Ive given it thought on and off throughout the years. I've also killed animals so I'm not blind to that reality either. Id never work in one of those factory farms though that's evil stuff.

OiTheRolk

I agree that you need to show love through actions, but also, eating an animal is not the same as abuse though.

Abuse would be hunting an animal to extinction. Keeping them in inhuman conditions (many modern animal farms). Destroying their habitats, via pollution or unchecked development projects. Breeding dogs into having health problems. Neglect. Beating a pet.

But eating? It can be done humanely, and it respects the fact that we're part of the food chain, which means it doesn't inherently go against love.

OiTheRolk

I don't know though. The more I stare at it the more I want to try it

OiTheRolk

I mean I understand the logic. God is ultimately responsible, why would he allow this

The answer isn't quite so straightforward and it takes a lot of reflection and faith to even begin understanding. But laughing at what someone else has in their heart or minimizing it, I don't think any of us should do that

OiTheRolk

Ok but the pain and outrage people feel is real, no reason to downplay it with such comments

OiTheRolk

Emotional intelligence is actually super important in politics, the political mess were in is because of the presumption that reason is most effective when you remove emotions out of it. It sounds like your boyfriend is just contributing to that landscape

OiTheRolk

No it doesn't. It explicitly says technology (including ai) is a way in which humanity participates in God's act of creation, but it has destructive powers as well if used in the wrong way. It says transhumanism or the singularity thing aren't viable paths, and that AI can't replace humanity. It talks about the structures of power behind the ai infrastructure, and that unchecked power in the hands of few oppresses us all. It talks about common good and the social doctrine of the church, and calls for reflction and slowing down with the implementation of technology but it never says it is immoral to use ai.

OiTheRolk

The encyclical doesn't refer to AI as creating a new tower of Babel. That's factually false. It says that we have two possible paths we can take AI down: the path of Babel or the path of Nehemiah

OiTheRolk

That would go against what the Pope wrote in the encyclical (quoting Leo xiii): Technology should not be considered, in itself, as a force antagonistic to humanity. On the contrary, it has formed part of our history since the beginning as “a profoundly human reality, linked to the autonomy and freedom of man.”

OiTheRolk

Espera means "wait" in Spanish. Pretty sure Esperia refers to that. Oda had us waiting 25 years for some of the lore drop, now he's telling us to wait 25 more.

OiTheRolk

It's not deep,as in team cherry didn't have a message that they were trying to push. Even so the themes and stories being touched on are themselves deep, regardless of the devs' intentions

OiTheRolk

No you're absolutely right. There's funny, and there's making someone uncomfortable

OiTheRolk

Groals runback is surprisingly chill, you need to learn the possibile enemy spawn points - which does make it somewhat random and therefore trickier to learn. But with the hidden bench and the hidden silk replenishment above the boss arena it's quite feasible to start the fight wormless and at full/near full health.
