A wonderful movie that Warner originally shelved to use it as a tax write-off.
The US is destroying art with its fundamentalist capitalism.

Do you really think anyone paid 90% marginal tax rates?
I don't think that, I know that. It's not an opinion or belief; it's historical fact.
I get the feeling you don't know what a marginal tax rate is.
As I said earlier
It doesn't seem to be getting through to you that nobody here cares about your made-up numbers supporting a strawman argument. A one-time redistribution of wealth is not a tax. Nobody is calling for that. And the number you get distributing the wealth held by Australian billionaires among the entire Australian population is ~$24,500.
Certainly, reducing individual wealth through taxation is being suggested, and would be a windfall for society. Then, as the Mackenzie Scott example demonstrates, a very high marginal rate on the highest earners above a reasonable threshold will likely have a similar, positive societal effect to the Eisenhower tax rates.

And Hollywood wonders why Aussies pirate
Back when the Lego Movie was eagerly anticipated, the breathtakingly stupid decision was made to hold the Australian release back for almost two months, possibly to cash in on the school holidays.
Never mind the fact that the trailer was all over the internet, or that 80% of the animation was done in Australia. We had to wait. Meanwhile, Roadshow CEO Graham Burke (fitting name), reportedly held an early private screening for a politician. He also admitted that the delay resulted in a huge upswing in piracy.
This is the same Graham Burke who crusaded against piracy and, in doing so drove more people to piracy. More than a few people could credit him with getting a VPN, Debrid service, UseNet sub, etc.
Now a fragmented streaming landscape and, like you say, region specific distribution are driving more people that way. Greedy fucks clearly learned nothing from Steam.

One of the nature YouTubers said the same thing about cassowary fatalities.
He said It's ostriches that have an annual body count.
Ok_Compote4526
You're just looking for an argument.

Normally I would default to Hanlon's Razor, but in this case...
A government department running interference for Israel and the IOF isn't the least bid surprising.
Ok_Compote4526
Well why don't you take that one up with the guy who originally posted that comment
Because they're not the one claiming someone else made it about race. That's what you did, and that's why I replied to you. I'm talking to you about what you said.
get him to clarify what he meant
What, in the original comment, do you feel needs clarification? If you're struggling to understand how mass migration, One Nation, and racism are linked, that's on you.
debating in bad faith
I think it would be helpful if you defined what you think bad faith arguments are, and then paste an example of me doing that.
all too common in open aussie
I wonder if confirmation bias might play a role in this observation.
If you don't like the sub, there are plenty of others. You seem to like r/Aussie...
Ok_Compote4526
Why are you making this about race? The guy you responded to
The guy they responded to made it about race by invoking mass migration and the "one party [that] has the balls to follow through". You don't even need context clues to figure that out.
Feigning ignorance is not a good look.
Ok_Compote4526
You really don't understand how these things work do you?
In 2019, when Mackenzie Scott divorced Jeff Bezos, she received $38 billion from her stake in Amazon. She pledged to give half of that away. She has reportedly donated $26 billion, and is now worth...~$40 billion.
So explain how taxing that money makes it go away. Then take a look at Eisenhower tax rates in the US. Pay particular attention to the benefits of those tax rates, which were 90% marginal rates on a threshold of $3.4 million in adjusted dollars.

Thanks for your feedback.
I'll let Jasko et al. (2022) know that me quoting the results of their research is "out of line" and that it is part of "rediculous (sic) left/right nonsense".

always the go to comment
It's appropriate to the behaviour. If you're hearing it a lot, that suggests something about you, not the people saying it.
small minded
Like your big-brained assessment of statistics? The one that was completely wrong. You didn't finish high school, did you.
I'm so far from those...boomers
Denies being a boomer, deploys emojis like a Facebook boomer.
Ok_Compote4526
This dude deleted his comment
No, they blocked you. Because you deserve it. We'll add the Reddit platform to the list of things you fail to understand.
I do not trust Australian gov statistics
Statistics are just used as a tool to pull the wool over your eyes
Fragile cooker.
Ok_Compote4526
What a fascinating narrative you've constructed.
People who don't fall for your bullshit must be consuming mainstream media, and couldn't possibly know the things you know because you're a special little boy.
Fundamental attribution bias from an obvious cooker. And, if you're going to call someone stupid, take a breath and proof-read your comment. Unless ironic projection is your thing...
Ok_Compote4526
I'm really certain that your illiterate nonsense isn't fooling anyone.
Hey, Ukraine, you missed one.
Ok_Compote4526
Yeah, you said that already. More than once.
Ok_Compote4526
Also active in the FriendlyJordies sub.
Ok_Compote4526
Yes, you mentioned the taxes. Their "one trick" which also somehow includes price controls, assisting in electrification of homes, competition reforms, wage growth.
One trick. With at least four different, sneaky tricks, carefully hidden in plain sight, in black and white, on a publicly available web page.
Ok_Compote4526
It definitionally is. You've dismissed the source due to perceived bias, and failed to address it in any way.
Had you done so, you would have found that they don't mention taxes in the second link provided for you. They, in fact, talk about wage growth, not taxation.
In the first link, three of the four points are not related to taxation at all. So...
They're a one-trick pony.
...it looks like you're wrong.
Ok_Compote4526
They mean the Australia Institute. Because the genetic fallacy is easier than addressing the content of the source.
Ok_Compote4526
Good to see "rant" is still being misused. /s
Ok_Compote4526
Smells are racist...
Ok_Compote4526
Listen snowflake, I'm not reading all that. No more dopamine for you, sad, insecure, weirdo.
Ok_Compote4526
Would those be men in the indigenous community? Men like you?
Why are you insecure whenever male violence against women is mentioned?
people that haven’t matured past 15
Okay, boomer.

Yep.
"to ram home the threat posed by One Nation"
They want to blame One Nation while ignoring his willingness not to govern from at least the centre and appeal to moderates, but to govern on behalf of Israel. Now he has likely lost support of progressives and anyone who doesn't want to see protestors brutalised by the state. Or the agents of the state bragging about their brutality on camera.
