Ringing the doorbell doesn't mean they have to wait for an answer. They can drop the parcel, ring the bell, then sprint back to the van. At least that way if you're in you'll be alerted to the parcel they abandoned.

According to the Amazon subreddit they are being told they don't need to ring doorbells or even attempt to put small parcels though letterboxes. So management are encouraging it to happen

They have different sirens for different purposes now, the long wail ones are for long distance projection, the short two ones are for shorter projection (nearer junctions), then the very quick pulses are for super short distance grabbing of attention (at a junction or near pedestrians). They switch between them as required

Hmm, the gambling commission lists £1 as the maximum stake for category D crane machines.

"Viewing highly recommended!"

Do viewers need to supply their own PPE?

Once you exit the pit lane, you can no longer change that mapping

I'm assuming this is a rule thing? As it would seem a very odd thing for a team to want to risk happening

Some people do, other people do not.

As with all things the 'do not' people are the most vocal which is why you can safely conclude the internet hates everything, even itself

If they fix the issue where the high & low quality steams have to be the same codec it will help a lot. Quite a few Reolink devices uses H265 for the high quality & H264 for the low so you can only have one of the two in Protect

A lot of the TV makers have deals with ISPs so that even if you don’t connect them directly to the internet, they can connect to other networks to send data about you.

You can just buy a plug in extension kit on Amazon, no splicing needed. I've used one when i needed to move an ONT during decoration, they're just a length of pre-terminated fibre & a coupler. The coupler will introduce some signal loss but given the signal is intended to travel for several KM it isn't a problem most of the time.

The careful handling is referring to unplugging it, connecting the coupler, then the extension without touching/damaging the end.

Just code your website directly in bash scripts

Might as well just go back to CGI at this point

There is an increasing chance a major cybersecurity incident will either itself take down systems that we now rely on (such as banking system) or result in them being taken down to protect them from ongoing attacks. Also given how reckless the AI companies are being it may not even be a deliberate attack, but a "rogue AI" just trying to get a better score
