I am a gamer still at heart but there is a difference between politically motivated and inserted female lead and the game just has a female lead

When the elder scrolls 4 first came out I played it before my brother ever did, I thought it was cool so I got a copy for him when I visited next

Showed it to him when I was up next, he sat down to continue playing it after I’d left, messaged him when I got home and what not to no answer

Day later I call him and ask how it’s going and if he liked the game, he said yea, asked if I got home alright, I said yea… yesterday night … he realized he had played for like 20 hours solid

Let’s look at it this way, there is round what 300k active OSRS players total?

The rate of psychopathy in the population is around 2%, this means at a conservative estimate there are about 6000 psychopaths that play OSRS.

If even half of them would revel in others losing something so they can try to feel superior then that’s 3000 voices to push a narrative

It doesn’t take many to create a narrative dissonance and it’s entirely believable that 3000 players could be complete dill holes intentionally fanning the flames

Action adventure is the loosest genre term to use, like saying borderlands is just a fps

Take out the loot mechanic and everything from borderlands and it isn’t a looter shooter anymore

Zelda games are action adventure yes but Zelda like games are action adventure games that follow a core progress loop of 1: get new item 2: explore new areas item let’s you explore 3: explore a dungeon and do puzzles and fight a boss, repeat

That’s literally its specific genre, using the loosest definition to try and be some gotcha is disingenuous, and again why are you so so so salty that people don’t feel like botw and ToTK are traditional Zelda games and don’t feel like they scratch the itch? Why are you so bent out of shape over it that you completely don’t read or even realize what people are talking about and interject about fi or Navi when they were never the talking point of the core formula

People ripped on WW because of graphics not gameplay or design

They didn’t expect a cartoon style and it was different at the time compared to its predecessor, but it still feels like a Zelda game, even if you reskinned WW to have the graphics of twilight princess or gave it entirely different characters it will still feel like a Zelda game

The argument that botw and ToTK don’t have the Zelda flair is very valid because they don’t, it’s not a graphical design choice of a Zelda game, you could reskin the game with other characters and no one would even remotely think it was a Zelda game, without the Zelda skin more people would probably call it “open world craft and explore slop” or some shit like that

Atleast people are trying though instead of just smacking their hands and feet on the ground crying

It’s a literal fact of bots and osrs trolls though, I never said all of them were but it would be disingenuous to say that those 268 are all actual players excited for it. The hostility from osrs is still there and they still actively want to watch rs3 burn

Even if it’s only 0.1% of the osrs base that’s intentionally flaming then that’s 100 people easily and 2% of people are psychopaths that would enjoy that kind of thing so saying 1/20th of psychopaths even would intentionally flame something is highly believable

We stuck around through those bad times, if anything veterans should be able to get whatever resources in virginscape from day one they can gather

Yet based on player count old school lost a huge chunk of players this year as well since players are starting to get bored of the old clunky tick system

Well men and women do have different choices in humour sometimes, if you were to take a broad survey you probably would find more men that find perverted and dark and gross humour to be funny compared to women (and I might add perverted does not mean sexist, just perverted and/or crude)
