I'm pretty sure the statue on limitations for spoilers for a 50 year old show that is available from many sources (paid & unpaid, legit or illegitimate) has long passed...

The best part of GQux were the 'close to 1:1' tributes!

My point was the goal posts are forever moving.

People hate newer versions of Top Gear because it didn't feature Clarkson bloviating, but then they were always calling for his head whilst he was on the show, and also a fair few hated the Grand Tour because it's ostensibly more of the same.

The same has happened with Bake Off, This Morning, Strictly - basically anything people getting comfortable with changing, because humans like their rose-tinted specs.

1) Conduct a test on the MGU-H's available, adopt either the best unit or best 'average' unit as spec. The FIA then pays the nominated manufacturer to develop and supply. Don't give the manufactures a choice, like when the FIA contracted McLaren to make every ECU.

2) I think the sport as a whole does need to decide whether road relevance is a reason to do or not do things. As it stands, it's just rolled out as an excuse to do or not do things in equal measure...

3) Front Axle Regen died for the same reason the MGU-H did - Audi made dropping the latter as a condition of their entry, the incumbents were against Audi then using their experience with front-axle regen from WEC to gain a performance step, plus the FIA was worried that it would be used as pseudo traction control.

Also, why don't they charge Europe? At least if they charged Europe too I wouldn't be so salty about it. it's just north America.

They do. They charge everywhere that's not detected as a UK IP address - you're redirected to bbc.com and need a subscription to use it.

It’s the cost for picking express replacement where a device gets sent to you prior to you returning the device.

That's surely the $2k hold, not the ~$100 accidental damage excess?

Optimaximal

No, they're campaigning because if the scrap yard expands, it might potentially cause their house prices to dip.

Optimaximal

Why is every solar farm greeted with cries of joy, but we're still moaning about the price of nuclear?

I mean, they're not...

I found that very article whilst looking for your allegations. Messaging him 'from the newsroom' is hardly the same as inviting underage boys onto BBC property so he can get a good look and start grooming them.

Also, as per the BBC's statement at the end of the article...

At the time, no charges had been brought against Mr Edwards and the BBC had also been made aware of significant risk to his health. Today we have learnt of the conclusion of the police process in the details as presented to the court. If at any point during the period Mr Edwards was employed by the BBC he had been charged, the BBC had determined it would act immediately to dismiss him. In the end, at the point of charge he was no longer an employee of the BBC.

I cannot see that the corporation behaved incorrectly. If it had turned out that Edwards was innocent, rival media would have crucified the BBC if he had been thrown under the bus or if he had killed himself, right? Edwards also resigned before he could be sacked - typical behaviour of the guilty to avoid further responsibility or penalties (it might have meant they could immediately claw back his pay whilst suspended) but again, what could have been done?

I don't really have any skin in this game but for some reason it always winds me up when people deploy lazy unsourced right-wing talking points about the BBC because they made an actual genuine fuck-up over handling Saville, but then he was also insulated from real blow back if they had done the right thing because he had the backing of the royal family and the PM at the time...

Optimaximal

Everyone always says 'we would get some new faces', but then new faces are shot down because they're not recognisable. 🤷‍♂️

...and plenty do go elsewhere for more money. Virgin & Greatest Hits have been poaching BBC DJs by offering massive salaries & Lineker is making significantly more now running Goalhanger than he ever made from the BBC.

That's Capita's bill for doing the work...

Optimaximal

Their accounts were transferred to solvent providers.

The companies only failed because they were offering the service below the market rate to gain custom and couldn't afford to 'buy' the electricity they were 'selling' due to the shock rise in prices because of electric being index-linked to gas.

Optimaximal

Apart from Saville, name a 'decade long cover up of a nonce' by the BBC?

Optimaximal

You do realise Edwards was just suspended (in pay) whilst the police were investigating him.

The moment he was officially charged they sacked him with immediate effect and took steps to recover some of the money he was paid during his suspension.

The BBC also, at no point, covered his actions up.

Optimaximal

The thing is, the BBC aren't the TV Licensing Company - they're a third party organisation, currently operated by Capita, who are asked/charged by the BBC to collect the monies.

They [Capita] are the ones sending the letters and enforcement officers around haranguing people and they conveniently hide behind the BBC when it comes to questioning their tactics. They also likely tied up in a cast-iron contract and are paid handsomely by the corporation for enforcing it.

Optimaximal

Are there any failing electric companies anymore? Some of the smaller ones went to the wall a couple of years ago because they couldn't service debt due to the cost of doing business but these were just allowed to die and their customers moved to other providers. Nobody was bailed out...

Optimaximal

...which could have been made a spec unit and then the current formula would make more sense (because the batteries would be able to charge properly).

Optimaximal

They've voluntarily shut down, but it's not like they could continue to operate because everyone has blocked them.

Optimaximal

They're a thing, yes. I was just suggesting how to represent them - they've renounced their chapter allegiances.

Optimaximal

If we want to do that, we'd need to accept even higher taxes to pay for the extra wages that would be required to convince doctors and nurses to work weekends or be on call...

Optimaximal

They may take in money based on catchment and patients, but they still need to employ GPs and if there aren't enough available in the area they're still required to offer treatment.

Optimaximal

Thematically, you need to trim away some of the Wolf Guard iconography and mix & match the shoulder pads with chaos and the plain loyalist pads (basically ditch the Crux Terminatus pads).

Wrt weapons, obviously the dual Lightning claws act as Paired Accursed Weapons, the assault cannon is a Reaper cannon and the flamer from the standard Loyalist kit if you want that. Your other 3 guys are rocking Combi Bolters and Power Fists.

Optimaximal

Debts reduced but there are a lot of creditors due in the next 6 months and 12 mil losses (up from 9 mil) meaning they've deferred their taxes (unless I'm misreading something).

If Boltgun 2 and Survivors do well, they might survive, but it's squeaky bum time.
