Buttercream is usually a 1:2 ratio with 1 part butter to 2 parts powdered sugar so the ratio is way off for buttercream.

Honestly I just know if they had done the cake even with the £600 budget and it didn’t look just like the AI photo those people would be mad and complain about it.

I mean, a big factor in how different batches come out depends on the beans. What vanilla plant they came from, how they were processed, etc.
OP’s vanilla also appears darker than yours and has released more tannins so it’s possible theirs aren’t as processed as yours. It’s not impossible for fungus to grow but it is unlikely.

It is highly unlikely you will grow something in a high alcohol environment like that, and especially at the bottom.
What you’re seeing is likely plant material that’s broken down from being in the alcohol for so long.

Because having intent not to cause harm does not mean harm was not caused.
It’s a huge reach to say they hate her because they called her on video and thought it was funny when she answered.

With macarons you don’t want the filling to be spilling over the edge. You want it to just reach the very edge of the cookie when you put the two halves together. I would use maybe just a 1/4 less filling.

Honestly I think they came out great even if the dough didn’t go as you’d have liked.
