Brennan and Gilroy would kill someone to do a job. Larry would kill someone for fun.

Town That Dreaded Sundown (proto-slasher) used a gun (based on the real Phantom Killer, who also used a gun).

But, as per why more slashers use blades, getting cut to death seems like it would take a lot longer and thereby hurt a lot more than getting shot in the head and dying “instantly”. More perceived pain = more audience reaction.

Heads up, you should remove the ?si= and everything after that from YouTube links, it’s a tracking code that associates any account that clicks on the link to your account, and can link your YouTube account to your reddit account.

I’m pretty sure the Land Between The Lakes dogman story has been mostly debunked by people who fact checked stuff like who the coroner was supposed to be at the time still being in school and some other details not lining up. But, that said, the story is interesting to me because it way predates the Internet and SOME of the checkable facts do line up with reality, and the non-checkable facts remained pretty consistent even over 45 years or so. As opposed to the normal game of telephone old stories like that usually go through. I remember my great uncle telling me the story way back in the early 90s in middle Tennessee, and the version he told me had basically the same details as the story that has survived to date. So even before they had the internet to proliferate tales like that, people in little towns hours away still heard it and remembered it well enough to pass it on.

Isn’t one of them literally just a Komodo dragon? And one is an octopus (albeit in Oklahoma). I think also one was a kraken maybe?

Cross didn’t work in Dracula 2000. Dade Murphy holds up a cross and the vampire says “sorry sport, I’m an atheist”. Luckily Dade is still able to hack the Gibson by pressing a button on the cross that pops a blade out of it to stab said vampire with.

Also doesn’t work in Interview With A Vampire. The reporter asks Louie if looking at crucifixes hurts him and he says “I’m actually rather fond of looking at crucifixes”.

You could just shoot facility scenes and put them at interludes to basically every classic horror movie.

Crazy Ralph gives the “you’re all doomed” speech in F13. Cut away to someone in the facility ticking off the “harbinger” box on a checklist.

Could even do it like mystery science theater 3000 style, or with interludes where a commercial break would be Joe Bob horror host style.

A breath of air taken from a compressed air tank at depth expands in your lungs as you come up (and the surrounding atmospheric pressure decreases). Your lungs can only expand so far and if you’re holding your breath they rupture.

They think about themselves enough to cover it for all of us. They think exclusively about themselves actually.

You’re operating under the assumption that horror fans in the 80s gave a flying fuck about continuity. Nothing other than “he’s back, he’s the man behind the mask!” mattered. It wasn’t written as one long Tolkien-esq well thought out and researched storyline, basically the producers thought every single film would be the last one. Hell the studio even tried to kill him off on purpose in part 4 because they were sick to making them, but the money just kept rolling in, because horror audiences back then didn’t care about marathoning them back to back and having internal consistency. Every single film was like an episode of Rugrats where everything just gets reset as soon as the credits roll.

The author of the book (Evan Wright) gathered other primary sources and interjects about them (and includes quotes from them) in the book to verify the parts he can, but also Jon’s father was Nat Riccobono, and his uncle was Joseph "Staten Island Joe" Riccobono ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Mafia/comments/m0gyor/former_gambino_family_consigliere_joseph_staten/ ) , both of whom were known members of the Gambino crime family.

Jon (who was undeniably a member of the New York mob at the time) claims that he was who “rescued” Hendrix when two “wise guy wannabes” kidnapped him from a club Jon and his partner owned. According to him he basically just ordered the two guys (who took Jimmi when he was trying to buy heroin at Jon’s club Salvation) to let him go, and that Jimmi was so strung out on drugs he at the time he didn’t even realize he had been kidnapped.

This is from Jon’s book American Desperado.

If I bet $100 on red at a roulette table, I’m “predicting” that the ball is going to land on red. Calling a gambling app a “prediction market” to sidestep laws and getting away with it is like selling polluted water labeled as H2O to bypass the clean food and drug act.

Yeah, asking if anyone has seen one is the equivalent of asking if anyone has seen slenderman or been stuck in the backrooms.

Do You Copy is a horror game where you play a Firewatch lookout in the pine barrens

There is also BIGFOOT which is a game about hunting various Bigfoot’s around the national parks.

That’s actually only about half of it. They weren’t about to lower a diver in, they had already removed him due to a medical emergency.

Bruce (the shark from Jaws) was supposed to be 25 feet long, but when they got to Australia they could only find sharks that were around 15-16 feet long. So they got the idea of hiring a little person stunt man, and making a cage and all the props to scale down to his size to make the shark look bigger. When they lowered him in, he saw the shark swimming at the cage, had a panic attack, and breathed through all of his air in the smaller scuba tanks almost immediately. One of the producers said on a documentary something along the lines of “oh my god I’ve killed him, I didn’t realize little people breath through air as fast as big people do”. Out of air and in a cage being attacked by a great white, the stunt man had a heart attack and had to be evacuated. After getting him out, the shark got tangled in the (now empty) cage’s rigging and destroyed it, which is the footage seen in the movie that inspired Spielberg to rewrite the script.

So possibly swimming off the coast of South Australia somewhere is a great white that should have a writing credit for Jaws.

San Diego, Savannah, St. Augustine, Charleston, New Orleans, and Nashville all go hard for Halloween in my experience. Have also heard Key West is pretty awesome.

The cryptologist that decodes it puts it up for sale in the Dominican Republic. Sam, Jessie, Michael and Fi steal it from him, then give it to Marv who gives it to Brennan before being killed. Jessie, Fi, and Sam steal it back from Brennan after Larry kills him, then Michael gives it to the CIA at the end of season 4.

The computer scientist that decoded it into the list. I assume it was destroyed after that.
