Again, We could’ve pulled the levers that very year to create more cap space to add more talent if we wanted. We simply didn’t because the FO didn’t think that 2024 team was worth it

Your argument was that Dak’s contract made it so we couldn’t get someone like Mccaffrey if we wanted. That is false. Period.

If you want to argue about whether that shortens a potential window down the line then, sure I won’t disagree with you there. But any notion of “we couldn’t get anyone else in 2024 because of dak’s cap hit” is again, false. We had the levers to pull and simply didn’t because that 2024 team wasn’t worth pulling any levers on

Also We could’ve made the cap space for it if we wanted to in 2024 if we wanted a Mccaffrey. It definitely wasn’t Dak’s contract keeping us from that lol.

everything about the cowboys actions in 2024 showed that we were doing a soft rebuild after that 2023 playoffs ass whooping that Greenbay gave us and allowing guys to walk that we weren’t retaining anymore. Ignore Jerry’s “all in” bait and just look at his actions in 2024. That was not the actions of someone that actually thought they had a chance in 2024

People that are really paying attention to all of the cowboys contracts, and not just Dak Prescott already knew 2024 was a decision point.. if you don’t think you have the roster after 2023, you let a lot of those guys play out their expiring deals while you extend other folks.. which is what we did.

Problem is he’s on that dog shit team that should be relegated.

Can’t wait to watch em pick top 10 again and waste yet another prospect

PersonBehindAScreen

It’s reflective of how much hope folks have for a team.

We all know the titans are hopelessly dogshit and will never be anything. No point in dog piling their shitshow of an organization

Cam Ward is ass. The Titans should be relegated. The sky is blue

PersonBehindAScreen

Why are you trying to revive a dead post?

I’d like to see CP adopt some more changes to the Fangio scheme. People wrongly think it has to be this static, unchanging philosophy. DCs have already been adopting the Fangio scheme and adapting what they actually need from for years.

The pillar of the scheme is an unchanging pre snap picture from down to down as a counter to OCs and QBs that we’re diagnosing the defensive looks presnap and bogging down defenders in reacting to presnap motion. So namely they stay in static 2 high pre snap and force the QB to process what is happening post snap. Eagles for example played the most single high and man coverage in the league, despite presenting some of the most 2 high pre snap looks. Christian Parker doesn’t have to spam cover 2,4,6,8 post snap and he doesn’t have to be a zone evangelist.

The DBs don’t have to play soft and give all that cushion! There’s plenty of coverage rules that dictate that a DB can man up after initially being zone and they don’t have to start off cushioned. JPJ became that guy for us that has helped everyone else by being the one to man up the best receivers

Brandon Staley used Jalen Ramsey as his demon on the field back then that allowed everyone else to just play their role in the scheme with the rams

Some Fangio disciple and adopting DCs still do the gap and a half DL on first and second down. Then send the dogs on third down if it’s obvious pass situation with heavy penetration. Right now we’re doing a good job on first and second down. It’s third down and penalties that’s killed us the last 3 weeks

Vance Joseph blitzes way more

Some DCs stick with the penetrating DL style we did with Marinelli, Quinn, and Eberfuck while using the back end principles of static presnap looks

Jonathan Gannon (packers who blitzed the fuck out of us), also a heavy adopter, does some of the highest 2 high coverages POST SNAP coverages but he moved away from the 2 high presnap and instead has one of the highest rates of single high presnap looks while still otherwise making use of Fangio principles

Again all of that to say that there’s A LOT of stuff Christian Parker and Pettine could do to this scheme while still being honest to its routes in the Fangio discipline

PersonBehindAScreen

More specific is he’s given up just one TD in zone coverage and that was his rookie year

He’s never given up a TD in man coverage in the league

They mean ILB vs OLB/Edge

people don’t seem to consider that the market is the market.

If nobody is offering you a first you can’t force em to give you one. If everyone is offering a second and third, now you come back and see who will beat that and you keep repeating that until you can get the best offer you can get out of teams with one lone team at the top.

For someone of his caliber that has been with the team so long, they may have also limited talks to only contending teams which it’s very possible that none of them would give up a first for a guard.. even if it’s Nelson

PersonBehindAScreen

Man I forgot about that… yall were doing some really weird stuff at the end of Bill Bellichek’s tenure. Yall could run a defense but it was nauseating watching… the rest…

PersonBehindAScreen

I’d also add people don’t seem to consider that the market is the market.

And then for some reason we have some sort of fetish for giving up our 4th round picks and we did just that for Trey Lance

Then cowboys nation for months swore to you, leading up to his first preseason action with us a year after the trade for Lance, that he would send dak Prescott packing lmfao

Daniel jones tricked em

PersonBehindAScreen

I know we joke about Jerry but Jerry has actually ceded A LOT of control since mid to late Romo. Stephen has been a major hand for a long time now and he just turned 62

PersonBehindAScreen
PersonBehindAScreen

The colts thinking it was their time to go in with Daniel Jones lmfao

PersonBehindAScreen

About TEs in the pass game. We gotta keep doing it. Part of the struggles on offense is the defense being able to key in on what we’re doing pre snap

PersonBehindAScreen

We tried to bring him in when Parker initially built out his staff. But he declined as he was on an extended vacation

PersonBehindAScreen

Pls no. It was a good name in the off season.

7 games in and i wouldn’t now

PersonBehindAScreen

Schotty has to be reading Twitter lmfao

I was reading all week that Dallas was getting their lunch eaten on the blitz, and generally in the pass game, not because dak couldn’t read it, but because our schematic answer to the blitz was dog shit and these vertical routes were killing us

Then we come out against Philly, and funnel some of that savings into more in breaking routes… like twitter said lmfao

Tyler Booker owns Jalen Carter

I think dak is injured. Or at least injured in such a way that it is affecting his throwing

His throwing hand was stepped on in Houston. He’s been taking rib shots all season and finally took a bad one in green bay

On the flip side it looked like our passing offense could actually breathe again. Philly couldn’t flood and muddy the field with 7 in coverage like teams were doing all year so far. I think running the ball successfully made it so we didn’t have to be perfect at passing

*looks at Arizona on the schedule
