Run. These can be great cars but they have possible trans issues by the 125k-150 mark. Might be ok. But if the dealer isn’t giving you good feelings keep walking. I have a 2011 with 101k on it, 4cyl version. Those are more reliable than the 6cyl from my understanding.

Hot rods are great, but they aren’t anywhere near as unique as a music man. Never get rid of that thing. That’s an amp you hand down through generations. A hot rod is one you purchase used on reverb or Facebook marketplace

Ford edge and explore have the 3.5 in them and they are notorious for internal water pump failures which is you can’t fix yourself will cost 2500 to 3000 dollars to have done at a shop . The escape, if it’s not rusting, is a very reliable engine. If you don’t need to tow much, or at all, escape for the win

Looks solid, just check tires and I’d definitely get new seals and repack the bearings no matter what.

Different head shapes is a legitimate possibility too. Just playing devils advocate. Not a fan of how it looks on his head particularly but it very well just may be better on some shapes than others.

Does it need done today, no. Does it need done soon yes. I wouldn’t pay the dealer price at all that’s absolutely absurd. But get it scheduled with a regular mechanic within the next few weeks

My quote was 3100. But he’s a family friend and did it for 2400 cash. You can knock some money off by telling them to skip the timing chain but in al lol seriousness you might as well do it while your in there. Had mine done in Dayton Ohio
