Love mine. Did a double take on the third one, thought it was fretless haha.

Only guitar I'm able to validate. Am wrong about almost everything else haha

This guy indulges. So many niche choices here and I respect the hell out of it.

The $10k price drop made me laugh

Yeah, the 70s custom is (I can't believe I'm typing this) a "budget" model in the lineup and isn't what most folks think of in terms of customs, but it's a great guitar

Then 3800. Also IDK where this guy hit $4k from, that's pretty low for new

Well you've given us so much to go on you should get lots of good advice!

I own three SGs, and the Supreme really stands above the others due to a few quality-of-life changes

Each of the stores have merch that are specific to their location

If OP's selections didn't cause me to question the recommendations then the pace of consumption definitely did.
An alcoholic does not a sommelier make, and we are clearly after two very different things.

I bought these second-hand, but they're my grail Gibsons

My old teacher found an orthopedist who specialized in musicians. This guy was so good that he was able to clock my teacher as an LP player who used a strap.
It took some trial and error but he moved to mostly playing an Ernie Ball S-style and the difference between the guitar hanging from a strap button at the 12th vs 15th fret was more ergonomically suited to him.
This obviously isn't a universal recommendation, but very minor changes can matter a lot when you're talking about repetitive motion injuries.

More than ten years ago I had a chance to buy a check that looked like that and I've regretted it ever since.

He got 18 upvotes on his post a month ago and you don't have it bookmarked to refer back to??

Thinner than 60s?

You're right, Gibson doesn't use nearly enough leather

Everything about this advice is great aside from the hilarious KBB reference

Zoom in! Left / right with up, down, middle.
Kinda like a gear shift for people born before 1980.

I'm not sure I'd do anything, but if you must turn go full blackout
Totally fine to start that way, it's not going to sound correct, but it will sound consistent and you'll know whether you're improving.
That said, I'm willing to bet that you could probably find a cheap bad guitar amp for $10-20 nearby you almost anywhere in the world that would also be easy to resell for the same amount if you don't enjoy it.
