Teachers. Remarkably decent scotch for the low price. Good on the rocks or with soda.

Great! Stuff we can light on fire at protests, without destroying stuff that belongs to our neighbours. The California protests against ICE were amazing. Waymos burning everywhere, fucking that company over without harming anything useful.

The Pushcart War.

My take: Saxe lives on St. Clair; I asked her what her connection was to our ward and she said she did line dancing sometimes at a Danforth church, and was involved in the Don River project. She done screwed up bad if she can’t win as an incumbent in her own ward.

Ehrhardt was a great school councillor and she has my vote. Always responsive when my family had questions or concerns and good at communicating to constituents what was going well in the TDSB and what needed organized community pressure to change. She is a protege of Paula Fletcher, and Fletcher endorsed her.

Fragedakis I don’t know beyond that she’s anti bike lanes, but the Danforth BIA is ridiculously corrupt, incompetent, and inefficient, so I don’t trust anyone from there.

Not sure what a realm is, but his name was Oliver.

Thank you so much.

That’s so sweet.

I really don’t know how that works. I guess screenshot or a link to someplace? Whatever is most feasible. Thank you and I’m so sorry you had that experience. I’m doing ok….trying to honour his memory by being there for his kids.

Thank you all. Wow. We are in Toronto. He likes the Blue Jays and the colour green….and Minecraft. If you wanted to make him the jays logo and a 7 or so that’d be really cool.

Pointingmade

Aw man that’d be incredible.

Canada is for sale, apparently.

I’m just a white guy who grew up in Greece and wanted to warn you, so def go with whatever others with lived experience in Roc as Arabs or Muslims say. But off the top of my head, the city of Rochester is way more diverse than any suburb and people are just cool with whoever you are. Not knowing your budget it’s hard to say, but generally the southeast of the city is the bougie, hip part, and most anywhere is fine especially compared to Paterson. Certain northern and western neighbourhoods get kinda stabby. Just read the other threads from others relocating.

Nah bro don’t send habibi to Greece. Greece is diverse, but not diverse enough to water down the racism. Anywhere west of Dewey gets suuuuper Islamophobic real quick.

Get a wagon and take the TTC. You can’t drive on the island and will need to schlep your stuff around there anyway.

There is usually some sort of equalizer or other tone control buried in the menus. Flatscreen TVs necessarily have small, shitty speakers, and often they come out of the factory with some sort of Super Awesome Bass Boost Mode engaged. Because of aforementioned small speakers not actually being able to produce real bass (say, sub 80hz), the low mids get saturated and produce distortion, to the detriment of both treble and bass. So basically, the sound is a lot like our ears as it is: bad on top and bad on the bottom, with a lot of jumble in the middle because the extremes are fried.

Go through the menus for any audio adjustments you can find and play with it until it sounds good. The worst of my hearing loss is still transient, so on bad days I cut the bass and push the treble as hard as I can. That makes speech much more crisp and intelligible, and gets rid of a lot of the annoying background noise that often gets mixed way too high nowadays (traffic, machinery, airplane).

Hell I’m 33 but I miss the massive furniture-cabinet CRTs and that old I’m-on-TV, better-enunciate-real-good way of speaking.

At least it’s sanitary in there now.

Eggs.

If you have a car, drive to a parking lot at one of the TTC subway stations (or a GO regional rail station) and get on the train for the day. I’m from the US. Toronto transit is fine; we all just wish it was better. Better than Chicago and approx. like NYC. https://www.ttc.ca/riding-the-ttc/Bike-and-ride/Park-and-ride

Would you consider a mainline church? Episcopal, Methodist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, UCC? There are much tighter policies there and clergy who try and pull shady shit are banned from ministry. Plus women can preach and LGBTQ people are welcome!

Yeah, Beaches Boomer Cover Band festival….

Go read Matthew 6:5.
