Agreed, except i am cautiously optimistic

PopIntelligent9515

I have doubts too but if Jack Smith is made AG then Democrats won’t have to do anything but sit back and let a serious procecutor prosecute.

PopIntelligent9515

Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.

PopIntelligent9515

Fair enough

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Seems like many responses are assuming that other building science experts are the audience but lurkers like me are just interested in this stuff and i had the same confusion as OP so i appreciate the explanation rather than just “ERV.” with the implication “because trust me, bro.”

PopIntelligent9515

Gotcha.

I’m in the same area and somehow have a decent amount of humidity (or a little too much with occasional frosty windows like OP). Mine’s a bit older so not nearly airtight, and even a small part of basement with dirt floor which must be another source of moisture. It’s a wonky one that has me wondering the same thing as OP. Sounds like ERV is the answer for the vast majority of houses, despite what i thought i understood- HRV if one have any humidity issues, but that would cause a summer humidity issue i now understand.

PopIntelligent9515

“Another possibility is to do both. If you’re in a humid climate and don’t want to bring in a lot of water vapor with your summer ventilation, you need an ERV. But if your house is very airtight, you may get too humid indoors in winter with an ERV.  In that case, you could have an ERV core for the summer and then swap it out with an HRV core for the winter. (Not every manufacturer makes models with swappable cores, so check the one you’re buying if you think you may want to do this.)

The primary way to choose between an ERV and an HRV is to understand the moisture control needs of the space being ventilated.  In general, when the outdoor air is significantly drier or more humid than indoor air, you should go with an ERV.”

So that’s the best answer then: If you can afford the swappable core type and two cores then use both.

PopIntelligent9515

Not OP, but the obvious answer is because people live there.

PopIntelligent9515

OP is here for answers not more questions.

I’m interested in the question too, but there are too many comments like this in the thread.

PopIntelligent9515

Exactly. Winter air is dry air up here in the North anyway. Slight up and down in winter humidity levels is negligible.

PopIntelligent9515

Ok. I certainly don’t know. The phrase “pressure wave (charge density)” alone does help me wrap my head around it all a tiny bit more though.

Both those videos were interesting, informative, and entertaining. I look forward to watching the followups from both ElectroBOOM and Veritasium.

That was the first ElectroBOOM video i’ve seen and, dang, that guy is equally smart and entertaining! What a character!

PopIntelligent9515

Not quite. The electrons don’t really move at all:

Edit: or was Veritasium wrong? I haven’t watched this one yet but now i have to go down this rabbit hole: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iph500cPK28&pp=ygUeRWxlY3Ryb2Jvb20gaG93IHdyb25nIGlzIHZlcml0&ra=m

Like someone commented, “i’m still confused but at a higher level.”

PopIntelligent9515

Yes. The population in my area is way down so after years of shooting mostly does i enjoyed letting some pass and am waiting for a big buck instead this year. It’s nice to really enjoy some peace and quiet in the stand.

PopIntelligent9515

Well said, i totally agree.

PopIntelligent9515

So up-trunk is your kink, eh?

I get it.

PopIntelligent9515

Keeping heat out in the summer i assume.

PopIntelligent9515

Gotta love that camel toe in Iowa!

PopIntelligent9515

It’s probably in their scratch grains

PopIntelligent9515

Yep. If a passerby ran into a burning house and rescued a stranger, that judge would’ve asked, “Why did you trespass? You knew that wasn’t your house.”

PopIntelligent9515

Exactly. The heaviest vehicles put permanent grooves in county roads that fill with rain and can cause hydroplaning. To avoid them, we have to put our tires on the yellow line or the white line.

Wanna borrow my scythe? It’s powerful fun!

PopIntelligent9515

Too hot and Asian lady beetles bite, but if there’s an early cold spell it’s a great time.

PopIntelligent9515

Thought i lost mine but saw it fall out of an old couch when i tossed it out of my truck at the landfill. Made my day!

PopIntelligent9515

Do you really think her name has an apostrophe?

PopIntelligent9515

Honey locust has much smaller leaflets.
