I would take into the vets just to get him checked for any allergies like flea allergies or any other just in case sometimes allergies can cause hair loss as well so just take him to this straight to the vets for an health check and ask for to do them some some tests to check for anything that is wrong as well hope this helps

No not really if you get a ball that's big enough for him not to swallow then you can play catch with him I play bull with my friends mastiff sometimes it's it's great fun
