I’m so sorry. I went through a very similar period in Japan and I honestly felt my stomach drop reading this because I know exactly how that kind of uncertainty feels. You do everything you’re supposed to do, try to follow every rule, and then you’re completely at the mercy of a system that won’t even tell you what’s happening.You’re not being dramatic or unreasonable for being exhausted by this. And I really understand what you mean about constantly feeling like a criminal simply because you’re a foreigner. It wears you down in a way that people who haven’t experienced it often don’t understand.
Whatever happens tomorrow, please know that you are not a failure for deciding you’ve had enough. You gave Japan three years, learned the language, tried to build a life and tried to make it work. If going home is what you need, there is absolutely no shame in that. I really hope tomorrow is straightforward for you❤️
