God I would love Philomena to do a documentary on all the Thanos stuff.

What sugar cookies are you eating that are dry? The ones I have are always buttery and super soft.

That was the state of the church 1526. The more things change…

I hear people say things like this about <insert cuisine here> without ever explaining or giving examples. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but why specifically do you have this opinion? Menu options limited compared to other places? You do my like the flavors as much? And if that’s the case, is it just a different style than you’re used to, or are there objective shortcomings?

I think people are kinder to the character, which is great (and probably due in no small part to goodwill to the actor from other projects), but I don’t think she’s really a fan favorite. Outside of Sam, Blaine and Unique, very few of the non-OG, IMO, really managed to break through.

Which I think could actually a fun hook, that their specific class was kind of a flash in the plan, and the school didn’t provide any big successes after that.

It started with rapping and went downhill from there, lol.

Regarding #3, I guess that’s a matter of how you play, lol. I’m doing my first runthrough and found underwater trash busting so satisfying that I had my tail by the end of year one. I only have 2-3 hearts with most villagers because of festivals, I am dating Pablo, because he’s hot and this man has needs, lol. But this island is all about ethical non-monogamy, so Semeru better watch out.

That we have a serious Democratic candidate is itself a huge deal. The state Democratic Party has been a shambles for years because of completely self-inflicted wounds.

If you remember the state delegation votes during the last presidential primary, you may have noticed confusion right at the start with Alabama. That wasn’t a technical issue, there were two different delegations present because of leadership struggles.

I think we’re finally to the point we can start moving forward. Even if we don’t win the governor’s race (and I’m not holding my breath), I haven’t seen the state party this active in years.

I thought sound was the opening licks of “I’ll be Watching You.”

Not for the women-loving women (said as a man-loving man).

Gotcha, on my phone and have don’t have my glasses on, thought you were harvesting from kegs or preserve jars. Can read the text, just can’t see the pretty pictures, lol.

I’m not following, silos are the only building that require clay, how does that fit into the challenge?

I think it’s fairly common for people to think of social media as something that’s intrinsically attached to your identity and more self-promotional, and for more old-school type anonymous forums to be considered a separate entity. Maybe it’s age-based, as I was on BBS systems way back when, and the modern age of social media was driven more by the likes of Facebook and MySpace. If you use Reddit for interest-based forums only and ignore the feed, it feels much more like a usenet group than Insta. Perhaps we need better nomenclature to distinguish the two.

One other option, if you do want a table, is a drop leaf you could extend when you need? You can google drop leaf table set for options that also let you stow the seats.

Previous_Buy1601

If you don’t need that table for seating, I’d consider removing that, and maybe putting a baker’s rack to the left of the window for more storage and a bit of counter space (it looks like there’s room, but hard to say for sure).

But I love the vibe, size aside; it feels really warm and welcoming.

Is this AI trying to make a human argument and getting feedback on why the reasoning is flawed?

IMO, I prefer the level of intern involvement this season, individual episodes feel like they have more room to breathe by not having to shoehorn in every character. I like all of them, but with the oldies, interns, Chief Resident, and nurse DuBois, that’s 10 characters, plus recurrings like Carla and Cox. The current balance feels right to me.

Ha, I was going to say cast Tilda Swinton in every role.

My guess is that their releases allow the crew to film until the subject explicitly pulls their permission. Michael didn’t just go to Holly, he decided that life with her was enough, and he was done with both DM and the documentary.

Plus most of these other offshoot storylines still intersected with the main documentary. Michael Scott Paper Co was a direct competitor to DM, and you had Jim and Pam on opposite sides. Jim in Philly demonstrated the stress on his relationship with Pam, who was still as DM.

When Michael left, that was it. He and Holly would have been a completely different thread that didn’t tie back into DM at all. So even if Michael hadn’t voided the release, it would be kind of pointless unless they decided to start a spin-off.

My bad, I haven’t really paid attention to the news around this adaptation and hadn’t watched the trailer, so didn’t realize it was Magician’s Nephew.

That said, it looks like the main gist of the story is from the book, the only real deviation we see so far is the time period on Earth. I’d argue it’s not super relevant to this book, although it will be interesting how it would apply to timelines in the sequels.

So if it’s faithful to the story, Earth era aside, it seems to come down to style. Now that I’ve watched the trailer I think it looks fun, but I’m personally a fan of a more psychedelic vibe. And this is where I’m fine with veering from the style of previous series adaptations. We’ve had that “British cozy fantasy” vibe many times over. The juxtaposition of a late Victorian “real” world with a 70s/80s-inspired “fantasy” world is, I think, a nice twist.

And while the visuals do borrow from Waititi’s take on glam fantasy rock opera, Greta Gerwig is a much different filmmaker. For starters, she’s willing to have the type of quiet, slower moments that Waititi’s more epic works seem to fear. It’s a teaser trailer, of course it’s going to go more high energy. But her past work would suggest that it’s not the energy of the entire movie.

You’ve got the one from 2005 if you want a pretty faithful adaptation. There’s not really a reason to do another in that vain without it feeling like a retread. If they feel the need to use the IP, I’d rather have a fresh take, then you have a choice of which version you prefer.

A lot of these shows, sure. But “The Good Place”? That’s one of the most fully-formed first seasons I’ve seen. Plus I can’t fathom having the S1 finale spoiled by skipping straight to S2.

Is there even a mainstream any more? Network viewership is down, and it’s mostly procedurals, just a handful of sitcoms. Netflix is probably the most mainstream of streaming, but everything’s so fractured: I’m not sure what mainstream even looks like anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, a love hosting a dinner party, and I will throw down some cash for that. But most of our group events are potlucks, everyone pitches in so no one gets stuck with a huge bill.

Previous_Buy1601

Until one unplanned expense comes up that throws the whole thing out of whack, and then you get stuck in a cycle, sure.
