In Danish briller is plural as well. Saying "en brille" doesn't work.

I think the fanbase is too small for one. The average person never heard of it.
And also i think it would be difficult to adapt to a visual media as so much of the whole thing lies in wolfe's use of words and deception.

So, we know of 6000 exoplanets, and on one of them complex life evolved. If that's a representative sample the universe would be teeming with life.

No, eu works as a unit for trade with external nations.

They generally don't, but 41% of Americans are still considered low income. They may be trying to get out of it, but the system isn't really built for mobility.
Priff
The us also has higher cost of living on average and low income earners dont make more than eu low income earners.
It's a place of opportunity and risk.

Nah, hitbox is just bigger than visible pixels. So just dig out more so there's no shard under ground, and mine off a few more pieces.

My converted classic will be 650kg, and that's really only because i've put way more battery in it than i'll need.
A Prius is not a light car.
A more common donor is a leaf. And a leaf motor will be perfectly fine in any car as a daily driver. If you want to drag race a semi you'll need something more difficult, but for around town in an older sedan or small truck? It will likely be stronger than the original engine.

Did they? I can't seem to find any contemporary sources. There's plenty of stuff writing about Christians from the first and second century, but most of it is from decades after he supposedly lived, just like the books in the Bible.
I can't seem to find anything actually mentioning him when he was supposedly alive.
Priff
There are? I've Googled it a bit because i didn't think there were any contemporary sources. And i can't seem to find anywhere saying there are contemporary sources.
Can you point me in the direction of these sources?
Priff
Quite a lot of contemporary sources mention Alexander the great. His footprint in the historical sources is huge.
Not sure if there's a single credible contemporary text that mentions Jesus.
Even the new testament is mostly written a lifetime after his death supposedly happened.
Priff
It's just a shame none of them actually wrote things down when they happened.
But yeah, writing things down a few decades later is a great way to keep things on track.
There might have been a political figure that some of these dudes ran with at the time. What his actual name was is of course hard to say. It probably wasn't "Jesus". Considering how many times it's been rewritten, translated and edited to fit a political agenda the modern Bible really doesn't hold much weight as a historical document.

Geometrically...?
Like a hexagon? Or more like a Pentagon?

43 in a 35 is almost 25% over the speed limit. That is a significant amount.
Personally i think speeding in urban/suburban areas is a huge problem, because an accident there is much more likely to kill pedestrians, cyclists etc. And in those places there's a lot more happening, and it can be much more unpredictable.
Speeding on the highway is kinda meh. You're going in a straight line. It still makes accidents worse, but 8 over when you're on the highway is not nearly as big of a difference as 8 over in a school zone.

I don't use pin for small amounts if i tap the card. But for amounts over 30 euro or if i insert the card it always requires a pin for card payments.
How do you authorize a payment with card if not by pin?

I went to the us last month and signed my signature on a little screen on a card terminal in a grocery store. It was surreal.

My dad has nearly 450k km on his ev, still has 88% capacity on the original battery.
They do plenty of miles without issue. Age is usually a better indicator of battery degradation than miles.
Priff
You can get batteries pulled from scrapped cars for most popular models pretty cheap these days. Lots of situations where a car gets scrapped for damage that didn't affect the battery. I've seen them priced as low as 2-3k for a battery from a 1-2 year old car from major brands like vw and ford.
Comparing a used engine to a brand new oem battery isn't a reasonable comparison. Getting a brand new oem engine is pretty expensive too.

The global south is electrifying a lot faster than the western world did though. They're likely going to leapfrog a lot of places. There's countries in Africa that have already banned ice imports.
They might not buy as many cars as the us, but that's what makes it easier for them to transition.
And cheap electric vehicles from china alongside solar and renewables from china makes it very attractive for these poorer countries to be free from the petrodollar.

10-25%? I know maybe a couple dozen people who have Evs over 8 years old, and not a single one of them had a battery failure.
Anecdotal for sure. But i feel like battery failures are so rare they are basically non existent.
Priff
As i said, most failures are within warranty where its fixed for free.
If it clears the warranty it's likely to last longer than the rest of the vehicle.
There will always be exceptions. I'm purely talking about averages and "most". But the same thing applies to ice vehicles. Most cars can drive 20 years without an engine failure. But some people are unlucky and blow a cylinder out of the top of the hood at 50k miles.
Priff
Battery degrading within 10 years? No shot.
Current batteries are expected to outlast the rest of the vehicle for normal use.
Yes the 0,1% of cars that survive to 40 years will do it with a replaced battery, but the 95% of cars that get scrapped within 25 years will never need a battery replacement unless there is a manufacturing flaw. Which is becoming much rarer, and still usually shows up within the warranty period for a free replacement.
Battery replacement cost is not a reasonable argument for not getting an ev no more than engine or transmission replacement cost is an argument for not getting a combustion vehicle.
Priff
It's not that they drop fast. It's that they start at a voltage that's already considered low by a lot of stuff.
Priff
Downside is they are NiMH, like most rechargeable AA's, which means they're only 1,2V. Which means the discman will say voltage is too low when the battery is still over 50% capacity.
Bear in mind, in the Swedish data only like 20% of the ev fires involved the battery. Most were cabin fires caused by external things like being parked in a garage where something else caught fire or using a granny charger in an old outlet which caused a fire.
One case in the 2024 report was "owner left a barbecue with burning embers in trunk, fire put out quickly"
Even some fires where the garage basically burned down around the car left the battery unharmed, though the car was ofc burnt.
