Is there a way for Narwhal to support Reddit’s “for you” feed? It’s algorithmic but recently has gotten pretty decent in what I am interested in.

More UI feedback (this is based on App Store build, I don’t have access to TestFlight for Narwhal)

Can we have the web embedded view on smaller outer display be full screen with controls floating on top?
- Submit button when commenting should be part of the buttons on right
PrintfReddit
Yeah, the vertical margin between two comments and two threads.

Really amazing work on Duo support. Two more feature requests:
- User icons and subreddit icons, I think you said subreddit icons are in works but user icons can be pretty cool too.
- Ability to change horizontal comment spacing, spacing between comments so that I can space them out a bit for some more breathing room in the content.
PrintfReddit
Haha no I haven’t really shown it off to anyone yet
PrintfReddit
Oh cool thanks that worked!
PrintfReddit
Also I can’t seem to be able to edit comments.
PrintfReddit
Super minor thing but can we get support for hiding flairs from post list? I like the default reddit app’s layout for posts and am just trying to replicate that.
PrintfReddit
Bought one, make about 221k base so it’s not a problem especially since I use it for work primarily (software lead, shit ton of reading and comms). It’s an exceptionally good device, and also just kinda cool to use.
PrintfReddit
Oh sick, can you record in background while focusing on references? For example if I wanna record while reading something?
PrintfReddit
What the hell are you talking about lol, Apple has always kept design language fairly consistent in the same line of products.

Thoughts in random order:
- Outer screen might take a bit getting used to, especially when comparing to Pros. I am moving in from a Pro Max and I find it okay to glance at info but for more detailed reading I often open into portrait.
- Portrait as tested in Mail is about 2x text content vs outer, but if you open on the email it doesn’t re-render until you do orientation change then it properly fills it out.
- Maybe not the best device if you primarily can only do one handed. It is a tablet and needs two hands to take advantage of the form factor. That’s not a huge concern for me even while walking around (apart from the occasions I have got a coffee but the outer screen is enough for quick reads or messages).
- I’m personally replacing needing a MacBook all the time for chunkier reading or multitasking and compared to that it’s great since it can just live in my pocket.
- Two apps side by side is absolutely top tier.
- Why one handed only while moving?
PrintfReddit
What are your apps or workflows? I do a lot of Software Engineering and I am enjoying the form factor for digesting info or running apps.
The thing is, it’s a different form factor so some workflows might need rearchitecting or just might not benefit?
PrintfReddit
I have found it relatively easy to use it when I am out and about, during commute or taking a walk. When I need to read on the move I find the portrait mode very useful. I do a shit ton of reading too. What apps or use cases are you struggling with
PrintfReddit
I absolutely do not think this device is flawless, it has more than its fair share of flaws and you gotta compromise at times. However, it is absolutely a joy to use and a big net positive imo
PrintfReddit
Yup, makes them more bearable
PrintfReddit
Not really? There are some shortcomings yeah but nothing that outweighs the significant pros of this device? There isn’t a single perfect device out there.
PrintfReddit
I don’t think it’s awkwardly positioned but might be a hand size thing? Definitely not a huge fan of the chunkiness and density when folded, but I can look over that when it’s unfolded since I’m finding it so good
PrintfReddit
No cover, similar weight as my previous phone so not too bad but definitely feels dense and thick when folded. The sheer sleekness usability of it when unfolded makes up for it imo.
PrintfReddit
I think what they have is very usable and totally not a dealbreaker during actual use. That said, I am sure it could be better, and in upcoming weeks and months there will be a lot of UI experimentation to figure this out, something I am kinda excited for.
If that’s the only concern you have I would say it’s still a very worthwhile product and experience in its current state.
PrintfReddit
So far yeah, I have the watch on my left and phone on the right and it seems to work fine. Might be a proximity thing?
PrintfReddit
Absolutely fucking worth it lol, it’s a massive shift
PrintfReddit
Yeah but I do see Apple’s approach where it’s a dynamic place that automatically adds the quick navigation shortcuts you need. It’s not static with just the home, back and multitasking buttons. Slack uses this beautifully, I think we just need to give apps a bit of time to adapt.
PrintfReddit
Okay, so I just tried this. It will not give you an option to create a new split screen, but if you have two Safaris open, then you can just drag one link to another window and it’ll open it there.

Safari sorta extends the background colour, but even just having full vertical height and floating comment control (or move the comment control to right) would be pretty sick
