I mean, you provided absolutely no insight to my question but thank you so much for enlightening me on….. yeah, have a nice one :)
Prior-Maintenance593
You provided me no answer.
Prior-Maintenance593
Thanks for all your help lady. Can you please get off this thread? I hope you’ve gotten whatever you needed out of your system….
Prior-Maintenance593
Whoa lady I do not know what your problem is. I am just simply asking what people that do not have health benefits are doing to afford their coverage this year and if they’re renegotiating their contracts, why is my current situation any of your business and yes, I am employed by a family, but I signed an NDA. What exactly I do is irrelevant to the question I asked nor do you need to continue to be rude. If I wasn’t in this industry, why would I be on this sub asking this question? It was a simple question and didn’t deserve an angry response, but I hope your day gets better :)

Will you please read before commenting- I said I have been salaried before and I have also worked as a 1099 before (I never mentioned my current situation nor if I’m a “nanny”) can you please just get off this thread and allow someone to provide advice instead of you just pestering me
Prior-Maintenance593
I am not salaried and 1099 at the same time and I never said I was a nanny. What are you talking about? Did you even read my question?
Prior-Maintenance593
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. I’m just looking for advice.
Prior-Maintenance593
And I filed my taxes appropriately, but I don’t understand how this is relevant or helpful to my question?
Prior-Maintenance593
Okay- regardless… I am currently salaried and I have also been 1099 due to an employer’s lack of tax knowledge. No need to be rude. Thanks for your help though!

Miami ad is now sending students to the newly formed online Creative Circus…
Prior-Maintenance593
I did! DM me
Prior-Maintenance593
Do not waste your time on a portfolio school. I landed a job with a very nice agency with only completing 2/8 quarters at Circus (before it closed down and left us in debt) and finished out my portfolio by other means (ask if curious)
Prior-Maintenance593
From someone that attended the creative circus the year it closed down, right before AI gave anyone the ability to produce visual creative, copy, and concept entire ad campaigns etc….. computer science is the way to go. I just read a Forbes article the other day that a good easy ““ side hustle for anyone right now is digital marketing.
I would try to shy away from advertising if I was you, from being in commercial casting for over a decade and then working as an Art Director for a pretty well-known agency…I am so glad that I got out!!!

This is the actual NRT website- don’t get fooled by gimmicks.
If you would like for me to explain my personal experience, just ask again :)

Just give me a few more years and there shall be a makers space in the Buckhead area, specifically Piedmont Rd. @ Cheshire Bridge (I already own the property but currently have a tenant) :) In the meantime- I’m making ceramics (but they offer other mediums) at Chastain Arts Center, they might still be taking students for summer, but I know fall registration starts in July :)
Prior-Maintenance593
I’ll buy them from you!
Prior-Maintenance593
I’m selling it on Facebook Marketplace for $90- how would you suggest pricing this?

I am in the exact situation- 33 F, single, never married, no kids, homeowner and financially independent— why is it so hard to find a decent man to build a family with? I come from divorce parents and the last thing I want to do is bring a child into this world that is going to end up in a split marriage. Honestly I’ve been thinking about freezing my eggs despite how ridiculously expensive it is just in case and one of my friends recently had her test tube baby at 40 because she was a successful business woman and more focused on her career rather than rushing to have kids. my current guy is pressuring me because we’ve only dated for a year that I move in with him so that we get married and start having children and in my experience this is all too quick. These are all large red flags as I live in the city of Atlanta and would have to significantly compromise my day routine and comfortability moving into his home. ( he got offended when I asked to pay for a cleaning company to come in one time and refuses to take his dying dog, who is painful to look at, to the vet- which was my only request before the process of moving if I decide to do so. I think I might get out now before it’s too late.
I love him to death but I think he just wants to build a family, which is convenient to him without having to make any compromises- regardless of his partner.. makes me feel like I’m just at the place at the time right now and making a decision like that could potentially ruin the rest of my life or at least for the next 18 years
any advice?

Thank you!

For some reason, I am not even listed under the certain category on a certain website that I got contacted for a full-time live-in position, basically having to be required as a CNA essentially to take care of this elderly man five days a week and he was offering me a whopping $12 an hour, including learning how to hoist him up in his bed, bathe him, change diapers, medication management … I have childcare, errands, pet care, and carpool on my profile but receiving a message like that was very insulting especially to someone that had gone to school and is an actual nurse that would be required to do such physically taxing work for less than minimum wage age (as far as I’m concerned)

So I’m starting a new position this week as a house manager and this family does not provide a nanny vehicle but are willing to reimburse me for mileage and gas- I know there’s a rate people usually charge based on mileage. I live in the middle of the city of Atlanta (specifically Buckhead commuting towards Druid Hills/VaHi in the mornings and afternoons) I usually only drive within a 10-15 mile radius max per day and shouldn’t be driving the children too frequently- should I ask for a weekly stipend or what is the rate that people usually use? Please take into consideration where I am located-so if you are from Atlanta, you know the difficulty of the commute time, not necessarily the distance.

I have made my families sign contracts with the exact expectations for both parties and length of the employment plus clauses like two weeks notice of leaving, biannual pay raises, schedule changes etc. I literally had the exact same problem recently, and after numerous attempts to communicate with the family that I must know when the children are going to be in or out of school certain days because it completely changed my entire schedule I had to give them my two weeks. They couldn’t say anything about it because the contract because I had kept up my end of communication.
Well, I’ve been interviewing this time around. I’m being very particular with the families. I choose to work for almost like I’m interviewing them more so than vice versa because the worst thing that can happen is getting stuck in a toxic relationship with no communication- not to mention, it affects our paychecks too haha!
I’d love to know!!!!
