I've played Clannad in the background while I do various things. It's on YouTube so I can just reliably have it run on my phone while I go to appointments or get food and water. So if having it on in the background counts, maybe a dozen times or so? Twenty?

Actually watching though? Hmmm. I don't usually rewatch much of anything. Cosmic Princess Kaguya got three. Madoka got three. Mushoku Tensei got four but the other three were with different youtube reactors.

The things I've rewatched the most straight up aren't anime, and usually happened with different roommates and girlfriends over the decades. Battlestar Galactica had like five watches. Stargate SG1 had like five. Game of Thrones was approaching six or seven until the last season fucked it all up.

Les Miserables is probably the highest of all time, since it was what I put on when I was getting drunk after finding out my fiancee was having an affair. I'd drink and watch that until I fell asleep and/or threw up. Maybe twenty or thirty times if those count?

The dream existed before it was turned into "Sloth If."

Originally Subaru confessed to Rem and they had a tentative marriage proposal (as long as Emelia agreed). The scene where Emelia goes "who's Rem?" is where he originally brought up the idea of polygamy to see what she thought about him being with both of them.

Well, that was from seven years ago. I'm not sure if I believe in an afterlife at all anymore. I've been trapped in a metaphorical hell for years now and if there is a god it's either like a father who went to get cigs and never came back or it's like some abusive trickster like Loki. Meh. And most of his followers are no better. Meh.

You know, with my struggles with food and toiletries after my injury, I've reached out to various groups, forums, communities. In every one there was at least one person who offered a helping hand - even if it was just buying me a case of ramen so I had at least something to put in my stomach. Except one. The Christian community.

The atheist community group? One person helped. An autistic forum? A few people helped. Colleagues? Quite a few. Casual discussion group? Quite a few. Complete strangers at the grocery store seeing me struggle with my concussion? Even then some anonymous person offered to help. But the Christian group? Nothing. My home church I spent a decade volunteering at? Nothing.

They have a joke ass religion, LARPing like they give a shit. Whitewashed tombs for souls.

Meh.

But seven years ago?

Seven years ago my answer would have been something like: "My priest made a point to say that some atheists are closer to the kingdom of heaven than some Christians." And I'd probably mention something about being a universalist anyway, or bring up the idea of heaven as a place of purgation.

Now though? Meh. Why should I waste my time defending a religion that won't defend me?

Maple in Bofuri effectively solos her verse in like episode two before her hax get nerfed.

It's a pretty funny episode.

Oh, and in terms of strength overall, she's a normal highschool girl who put all her points into defense. So she has 0 STR and 0 AGI and 0 DEX (etc) but broken amounts of damage mitigation. Using that she built up poison resistance to immunity. Using that she beat a freaking hydra by slowly damaging it with her teeth (eating it). With that she got unique armor including a shield that you can equip with a spell to insta cast with no mana on hit. Which she ended up putting a devour skill she unlocked by eating monsters (her most effective attack).

Devour converts eaten enemies into mana. And eats them instantly.

Installed on the shield, it converted anything that touched the shield into mana instantly. High rank players, veterans, everyone, anyone.

She eventually gets pretty OP, like most isekai anime characters. But by episode two, she's just this 0 STR, 0 AGI, 0 DEX, 0 ATK, 0 INT character with like ~460 VITALITY (ENDURANCE) and an OP item.

Because being wrong or right is only meaningful in the search for truth.

Perhaps this study's meaningful implications are the opposite: that allistics show greater brain reactions to hearing that they are wrong.

There are implications of being right or wrong on one's perception of their position in social hierarchy.

For autistics, who don't find hierarchy as meaningful, it's going to trigger less of a reaction. What matters is truth, not who is right or wrong.

For allistics, who find hierarchy very meaningful, it's going to trigger more of a reaction.

This would explain the greater defensiveness, resorting to personal attacks, and other emotional responses among allistics when told they are wrong about something.

Not sure what it would have to do with "adaptating to change" but it does help explain why it's so much easier to disagree about something with an autistic person than an allistic person.

Bro what is the writer doing.

Writing 🔥 peak literature 🔥

There's so much depth and weight in a story where even all the happy magic we've seen since the beginning is revealed to be in fact blood magic born of sacrifice, and where three characters now that we've come to know so far are revealed to be fated to become that sacrifice. And more! That the trigger for that is feeling peace and happiness and comfort.

Ahh, it feels rare for animanga to have actual heavy stakes that feel weighty and aren't just cheap easy "the baddies want world domination bla bla" while the hero is just doing everything on easy mode.

Real hope is a road paved with the bricks of despair. It's nice to have a series take that head on.

The latest Teddy Slump video was about time travel as a pregnant woman. Got me to thinking of how various storylines might handle it.

I assume you used AI to make those screenshots realistic, but why are they so blurry? Here's one of Echidna. Took like 45 seconds.

Such a great deconstruction of the harem genre.

The three lowest on my ratings list are:

Domestic Girlfriend | .02
Scum's Wish | .01
Higurashi When They Cry Gou/Sotsu | .009

Those scores are out of 100.

She aura farms in basically every scene, at every age, and so much even her name.

Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, the Iron-blooded Hot-blooded Cold-blooded Vampire, Oshino Shinobu.

That's like every college.

You can look up their 990s online if you're curious how much their presidents/chancellors make.

How is that the case when that arc in the web novel has her and Subaru agree to get married as long as Emilia approved? Subaru confesses his love for her and almost kissed her (until the damn catboy stopped it).

You're saying that a character the MC confessed to and agreed marriage with was "only meant to be an arc 2 character"?

Prof_Acorn

Eh, I like Rem way more than Emilia and my favorite arcs in the series are seven and eight. I'd say nine as well except for the fact that the ending of the arc is bullshit that undoes the entire thing.

Season 5 is going to show just how much Subaru loves Rem. Enough that he would slaughter an entire army encampment just to save her.

Also be prepared for a couple new characters to call them husband-kun and wife-kun" the entire season.

Not that I expect you to read the spoilers. But I still wanted to write them.

Don't let the haters bum out your excitement too much.

Prof_Acorn

The author is still trying to get audiences to like Emilia better, but it's not gonna happen.

This moment in Happy Sugar Life

She's basically a momma bear protecting her young, but yandere, and with homicidal tendencies.

Prof_Acorn

What do you mean never again? Aura writing? The MT Nanahoshi crashout was like a month ago. Knowing where Witch Hat Atelier is headed, there's some similar stuff coming whenever Season 3 is going to be like a decade from now.

Takopi's Original Sin is releasing a compilation movie soon. The anime itself was only like a year ago.

There's tons and tons of anime that isn't just "aura writing." All it takes is watching genres that aren't battle shonen.

Even with ReZero alone, unless they fuck up the adaptation, there will be more intense character scenes than this in Arcs 7 and 8.
