I don't think this pattern will look right in a denim, I think it will be stiff and awkward and uncomfortable to wear even if you size up.

Ikatbag has slowed her pace, but she talked about drafting a LOT, and also about drafting for her kids (8-15 range). ikat bag: Tutorials Her sleeve drafting and bag drafting series are pretty unique, not much else like them on the internet. I think she also has a qipao draft.
The discussion in r/PatternDrafting might not be very satisfying, but it is often interesting.

Can you say more about the premise behind your question? What leads you to expect Brazil would be similar to the U.S?
The US civil war, and the Haitian Revolution, were outliers. In the rest of the Americas, in Spanish territories, British, French, Danish, Dutch, slavery was also generally ended without a war over the issue.
