Re zero's best animation imo was in s3. S4 still downgraded in that regard. The consistency of characters' movements became worse but most importantly the weird angles that i noticed. It really looks like s4 was adapted by inexperienced animators. Even in the scene where amnesiabaru is on his knees meeting og subaru the camera for some reason stays still afar from them, and we don't even get proper adaptation of the illustration

I mean, yeah they did reuse it, but will you disagree on the fact that it still looks a lot more detailed and beautiful than current re zero s4 drawing? Because despite outsourcing etc., drawing of MT looks a lot more beautiful than s4 of re zero unfortunately. Beside that season suffers horribly from animation inconsistency

The problem with kadokawa is that they don't seem to be treating as priority. It's like one of the many isekaes they have been adapting for years. That's why s4 got only 19 episodes. They make the production worse by putting staff on tight deadline, while new series like sentenced to be a hero gets enough time and good adaptation.

The complaint here is that they don't do same with re zero. I wonder how much watanabe suffered trying to get as many extended length episodes as possible during covid and s2 production.

Kadokawa's marketing in general of re zero is bad. Unlike studio bind, as you can see current white fox's best capability is this(what we see in s4). Current staff is unfortunately just too inexperienced and small.

No, it's just they fucked up with cour 2's production and cut more than in cour 1. It has nothing to do with when it's mystery or not.

The animation in MT and re zero is incomparable

Mt is miles clear of it. And it's not debatable at all. The animation, consistency of it, the colours, lighting. All of it is a lot better than whatever current whitefox did with s4

Kadokawa does horrible job with re zero marketing and they'll never form studio for it. Because they are also just seem now too poor. Look at their other current animes. Majority of them don't have high quality animation maybe except oshi no ko and roshidere(but those aren't action packed series anyways, they just have prettier artstyle)

They gave whifefox smaller budget and demanded 19 episodes....

And whitefox itself is just too small. I saw somewhere saying that whitefox will keep adapting re zero. I really hope they don't, please no. Let them go to alpha polis and adapt their animes instead of clinging to re zero

It'd be better honestly if we just stopped for now getting any more seasons of re zero. The main problem is also with kadokawa and their budget. Kadokawa ain't aniplex. They got all sorts of issues.

Whitefox itself as you said isn't the same. Majority of them moved to studio bind and current staff is small and inexperienced

Re zero will need 6-8 years of hiatus to see if things get better with whitefox and kadokawa. Otherwise s5 will be even worse than s4 as it's heavily packed with action.

And if whitefox struggles with arc 6, then 7-8, they won't even adapt 20% of the story without cutting 80%

But don't get your hopes up. Because they'll be adapting MT and focusing mostly on it until the end. And that will last probably for a decade at least, as the novel is currently at 13-14 volume, the final volume is 26.

I think re zero in general is too problematic to adapt as it's too big and long.

I doubt other studios would wanna adapt since it's also isekai. But i also don't wanna see current whitefox keep adapting it, because they just do it horribly.

Unfortunately current staff of whitefox is just too small and inexperienced to do that. S4 has been such a let down....

And yeah i agree. Studio bind(the one behind MT adaptation) does splendid job in adapting it. Cut content is there too, but not as extreme as in re zero. Only s1 once or twice did better than Ln and that was in ep 15 and 18.

I also thought a lot about re zero while watching that episode. Especially looking at the dark colours and thinking how well it'd fit specifically s4 of re zero. Because the whole watchtower is basically similar to dungeon. It had to be dark. But the lighting wasn't there and colours were just plain and basic. I couldn't feel like this watchtower was actually pretty much dangerous and scary place. The only time there were dark colours is in ep 3, that's it. I don't even understand why the inside of watchtower is so bright. There are no lamps, no crystals. And the sun's light isn't supposed to be reaching the inside of the tower since there are no windows.
