Why would anyone not be looking documentation up for a programming language they’re using? Are you not constantly reading documentation when learning new tools?

Prozilla6

What effort?

Prozilla6

That’s how every AI works

Prozilla6

A what?

Prozilla6

Are you using AI in your project? And if so, how are you using it?

Prozilla6

Where did you get those environments from?

Prozilla6

I’m also curious about why you personally chose to use Java instead of a different language.

Prozilla6

I’m also working on an LWJGL game engine. I didn’t see any need for an engine UI in my project, so I’m curious why you chose to work on that in yours. For how long have you been working on this? What games have you built with it?

Prozilla6

I don’t think that’s true for everyone. I would not pay for an AI-assisted game, and I’m sure there’s plenty of others like me.

Prozilla6

This might be controversial, but I would have preferred seeing your own UI. I believe it would have a lot more personality and uniqueness than this.

Prozilla6

We used to call them script kiddies. They’ve just gotten new tools to do the skidding with.

Prozilla6

Yeah, but that’s not vibe coding. Vibe coding means not keeping an eye on the LLM.

Prozilla6

This is not what open source means, but I get you mean.

Thanks for the inspirational post! I’ve been working on my own framework in Java and it has definitely been brutal, but it’s so much fun to work with/on. I hope one day I’ll be able to release a game written in Java using my own framework, or help other developers achieve this.

Prozilla6

Why?

Prozilla6

Whatever we had back then was way more hilarious than what we have right now.

Prozilla6

At least back then we had actual programming related jokes

Prozilla6

I just wanted to make games in Java and didn’t want to use other people’s existing solutions to do so, mainly because I wanted to learn about how it’s done.

Prozilla6

Is this meant to be some kind of insult directed at me? Because I don’t even use AI to generate code, so neither of these “perimeters” includes me. What are you trying to convey?

Prozilla6

Did you read my comment? I gave different definitions for both terms and even summarised their difference at the end. How are they the same thing? They’re two completely different activities, their only similarity being AI usage.
