There is info on the National Forest website. Any other sites will just tell you what they scraped from the official site, hearsay or stuff someone or an AI made up.

I don't know if you'd call it "dispersed", but there is primitive camping in many state WMAs.

and there are primitive camping opportunities, including hike-in on some Water Management District lands, such as the St. Johns https://www.sjrwmd.com/lands/recreation/camping/

There is also camping on some spoil islands, if you have a kayak.

Something to think about... With all of Ken Paxton's flaws, physically, ethically and otherwise, apparently unlike Musk, he can find people to have sex with him without paying them millions of dollars.

RW63

Musk, who is building his own space port in Texas next to some federal land, dancing pretty liberally around environmental laws is worried he won't own one of the Texas senators.

The brake will hold the car and if you're nervous, just do it in a big parking lot, a corn field or in the alley behind a shopping center, where there would be nothing to hit.

RW63

I was nervous the first time and thought about doing it in a corner of the mall lot, but I think I actually just did it in my driveway the first time, but I did test my second in a parking lot on a test drive before purchasing it. Between my two Prii, I have done it in my driveway at least a dozen times since.

Not sure why you'd think you'd be arrested or fined. There is nothing illegal about doing it. Just keep your foot on the brake and follow the onscreen directions. If for some reason you accidentally let up on the brake and the car starts to move, let up on the gas, but that's not likely to happen and you'll be fine.

Who's the vlogger?

I'm sure the shirtless helps with traffic stats?

"Local" to where?

It's a county fair. I assume these signs are from companies that work a circuit, then winter in Florida.

RW63

Right. The IG did an investigation and referred it to the Justice Department, which is probably required when they find evidence of an impropriety that could be a crime, pklus my understanding is that Lewandowski isn't popular within DHS.

Someone at Justice accepted the referral and by doing so, it opened a file which would be the first step in a Justice Department investigation.

In normal times, there would likely be a legitimate investigation, as there was with both Trump and Biden when it came to post-presidency handling of classified files, but these are not normal times and I assume most of the legitimate investigators in the office that would be in charge of it, have either been fired or quit.

Because of this and because of the culture of fear likely governing the remaining non-political Justice Department employees, unless Trump or Blanche pushes it, the opening of the file -- the filling of an online form -- is likely as far as it goes.

RW63

The article says the investigation is after a referral from the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general. The law or procedure probably requires an "investigation" which starts with a form.

It might not go past the form -- though that's hard to tell because Trump's people have always tried to keep them separated and the President did reprimand him in the Oval a couple of times -- but it could just be a required form, nothing more.

There is clearly something wrong, if your Spectrum goes out like that. If you decide not to change, you should definitely chase down the problem or stay on them until its fixed.

I have AT&T fiber now because of its price, which Spectrum tried to beat when I quit after having them for ten years here, seven years at my previous place. Over that time, I probably had less than a half dozen non-hurricane outages. You should make tem fix yours.

The main part of MacGregor Downs is from the very early 70s -- they hosted a PGA in '73, the lake and golf course were both finished by then -- while Regency Park was started in the 1980s. Originally, there were just those two office buildings near the lake for a few years, before they started adding houses.

I am glad to learn that I am not the only one who asks Alexa to play Parliament Funkadelic.

FWIW: I also like to ask her to shuffle music by Parliament and Sly and the Family Stone which it calls a "funky groove mix".

My experience from playing whac-a-mole is that the Delta SOC will incrementally tick down after the repair. Each time you start and drive the car, the numbers will be a little less until it reaches zero.

I also didn't worry about "balancing" the modules. I just put them in and let the car do the rest.

I would really like to go to the rally, but my wife and I have another commitment that day. It's an event she has been planning for months and she's one of the hosts. I have to do the tall-people stuff and fetch.

That said, why should anyone care what some minor-league podcaster thinks?

The dude got 11% of the Republican Primary vote, both county and statewide. He came in third. Not even Republican care what he thinks, so he's going to try to glom onto Bernie and Angie's press.

(Still, everybody go to the rally. I would if I could.)

RW63

You'd have to define "better". Affordability and job availability can't be the only criteria because you can find both in either city. You need to come up with some other considerations.

RW63

Having spent a lot of time in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, my gut says Charlotte and Durham would be less and Charlotte, because of its size and more diversified economy would most likely be cheaper than Durham. Though you should still be able to find what you want or need in or near either city.

...and it retroactively reduces what was paid for the oil already in the system.

RW63

While the point remains, a barrel of Brent Crude is $106 right now and West Texas is $95.

I'm on my third GreenBean under their Lifetime Warranty.

I got my original replacement for the OEM in '21, a second replacement in '24 and that one developed an electrical issue in over last Christmas (P0AA6) which was covered by the warranty.

60ish% should be fine. Have you changed the coils, plugs, PCV and cleaned the intake manifold?

RW63

I live in Florida, where we use the a/c yearround and my 2010 gets down to the screen showing 42 a few times a year, but it is mostly 44 to 48 mpg.

Today it was around 90° with a real feel of 104. I noticed my dash was showing 48.9 miles per gallon. I really don't think turning off the air conditioner would get me another 10 mpg.

When is the last time you did a tune-up?

RW63

Yeah, I had to edit my first comment... I had the length wrong.

(As I said, I've mostly just walked it until I turn around. )

Mostly, I've done it from the Hall Rd. side.

I'm not north of the barge canal a lot, but if I don't time my return correctly, I could get caught in the traffic jam which you can sometimes see from Hall Rd.. Sure, most of the time it would be faster to stay in the car and ride it out, but if I'm not really going somewhere or if I have time, I find it nice to get out and walk for twenty minutes. There is also a public restroom at each end.

Again, good luck! I'll mention it to my wife, but that day is literally the only day one of us doesn't have something previously scheduled this month. It could be a day to lay around the house.

RW63

I see from your Instagram that you hike all around, not just on r/MerrittIsland.

I've walked the Pioneer Trail a few times. It's a good hike. Though, I tend to come in from one side or the other, then walk until I decide to turn around, especially when its hot and I'm walking alone.

You should tell us more about your club.

The video makes it look like some members may not be in it for speed just the walk.

Definitely be prepared for bugs, especially after all this rain.

Have fun!
