sadly i live in the third world where there are no official apple stores or support of any sort, only scammy third-party chinese parts importers that replace your broken parts with those chinese ones. so i kind of am in a rush to sell it as soon as possible so the price of my XS doesn't degrade more than it already has (which will happen probably once ios 19 gets announced). i can't describe how satisfactory it was for me to see my phone supporting ios 18, which for me meant i have another full year to sell it.

as everything is closed source you can only hope they are doing with your data what they claim they're doing

By labeling it as "secret chat" which leads the average person to think it's something suspicious you want to talk or do with them whenever you start a new chat.

I used to defend Telegram until I found out E2E wasn't on by default. Now I don't like it at all. I can't count the amount of times I missed messages because people are free to just erase messages with no trace at all. Sometimes I'm busy and see the notification, hours later I open the chat and no trace of anything ever, because the person deleted the message or the entire chat due to the message being a momentary thing. It leads me to confusion, and anger.
