No worries and all good very common in Aus too.

1. I use google maps (unless not suitable, e.g. China) and excel. I pin more a bunch of things and it can help me plan routes, and make trade offs - if one thing is by itself out of the way - is it worth the travel and time? I also go and look at itineraries of tour places to see what the big hitters for the country usually are.
   
2. Just make sure you know what you need to do for visas etc. Including any transiting visas.
   
3. I used to transfer into those currencies. Now I prefer to have a bank card with no/low fees and use atms. This is fine for most countries. I'm going to a few places soon where I'll get a bit of cash out ahead of time but usually I don't bother.
   
4. Plan out any major activities/attractions. If you want to do the inka trail, or visit the Alhambra, or go to Disney World, it's good to do some pre-planning. If the day is "See XX city" I like to have my maps pins as a guide but not use it as an itinerary. I usually place the 'big rocks' and work from there. Often countries require you to have evidence of flights or trips out. Be aware of this too.
   
5. I always wish I'd learned a little more of the language.

I don't know the context of love on the brain, but I had an economics lecture the other day where pi was just an unknown variable. He mixes up what Greek letters he uses and we were several layers deep of switching to a new one. It did throw me for a min.

3 days is often enough to get a feel for a city. Though there are places like Rome I'd say 5 is a good starter. 

I mean sometimes you're roadtripping and a day is enough. 

I do usually like at least 2 nights in a place so I get a full day at the hotel where I'm not checking in/out though.

Ok that's your personal issue with the situation. But if you focus on that you're missing the broader politics that are impacting you. Creating a santised version amd sharing would go a long way towards the other interpersonal issues you're having. The perception right now is that you're territorial and don't like to share. Not a great look and smyou should try and address it. 

At that point you'd be in a better place to address the sharing without asking.  The framing then is: I like to make sure resources are in the right format so they can be as useful as possible.

If you address it without sharing, the framing is: Don't look at my secret personal files that would be helpful for you.

It would sound weird and not in the fun artistic, whimsical way if someone introduced themselves as vessel f2f. 

Ways I use the word in my day to day: - ships  - talking about the only purpose being to carry something else "the cracker is just a vessel for the hummus"  - it does have more religious / occult / fantasy vibes than similar meaning words. Like grail or goblet do vs glass or cup as normal comparisons. But not in a fun witchy name way like Willow, Sage or Amethyst would as nouns that could be names.
