Thank you for posting this. Definitely couldn't remember but this info should be far more available for beginners and hobbyists.

if its for messing around i would recommend the aviation organiation. If you ask the question around here someone will remember which.

I feel you about the price. It hurts everyyear even with the subscription. Just feels so old and bloated compared to the others out there.

It will most likely be a download copy with a key crack (so pirated license). Solidworks tracks these installs. I cannot recommend even trying it out, wont be be worth even $5. I imagine they just resell the same files you can torrent (also dont torrent it). If you are a student, look to see if your school has a ED license available. If it is for hobbys then there is an Aviation Organization that provides a free ED license for a like $50 yearly. Cant remember the organization though.
