For what it's worth, he arguably was indeed on that trajectory until his injury issues finally caught up with him after 2019.

RavenLabratories

Yeah, if he'd kept up the trajectory he was on from 2013-2019 he'd certainly have been in borderline conversations at least.

YA as a whole has shifted towards being aimed at (comparatively) more mature audiences over the last few decades, so it actually isn't even that far out of the current norm for the genre.

RavenLabratories

I think that part of that is just that those two spaces are simply younger on average than this one, and thus closer to the target demographic.

RavenLabratories

Also wrong. HRT was one of the worst Formula One teams in modern history.

RavenLabratories

Yes, and what I'm saying is that's not how it works here. If you're in the right lane, going more than maybe 5 mph over is strongly discouraged no matter how empty the road is.

RavenLabratories

OP was going too fast for the right lane, even if it was empty.

RavenLabratories

I thought that Jayson Werth was a superstar, man.

RavenLabratories

This is true, it's often what we're explicitly taught in driving school. The general reason is that each lane is typically used by drivers going a specific speed -- if you want to go the speed limit or lower, you go in the right lane; if you want to go 5-10 mph over, you go in the lane second to right; if you want to go 10-15 over, you go in the lane third to right. The left lane is supposed to be for passing, but often tends to be used by drivers who wish to pretend they're on the Autobahn.

RavenLabratories

The entire purpose of the middle lane is to be hogged.

RavenLabratories

The official rules of the road are not the same in Europe and America. Drivers are expected to stay in the middle lane when not passing or preparing to exit.

RavenLabratories

In heavy traffic, it's often wise to start getting ready to exit miles in advance.

RavenLabratories

I think you're generalizing the driving laws in your area to the world at large.

RavenLabratories

In most of the US, the center lane (or lanes) is the legally designated travel lane, for all drivers who aren't passing another car or preparing to enter or exit the highway.

RavenLabratories

That's what the right lane is here. It's for cars preparing to enter or exit, or for semi-trucks.

RavenLabratories

No, in America the middle lane is typically for travel. If you're not getting on or off or passing anyone, it's usually expected that you stay in the middle.

Copypasta lol

RavenLabratories

It's a copypasta lol

RavenLabratories

It can, but it also probably won't.

RavenLabratories

I feel like no rain-affected race can really ever be classified as an easy win, though.

RavenLabratories

The Penn Line is pretty good most of the time.

RavenLabratories

It's much more expensive to do tunneled construction, so any extension to the eastern Red Line is probably not worth it. Probably the only worthwhile extension is Gaithersburg and Germantown; even Clarksburg may be pushing it.

RavenLabratories

The real difference is actually that Navy Yard is much, much closer to the transfers at Gallery Place and L'Enfant Plaza than Stadium-Armory is.

RavenLabratories

Yeah, I agree. I just don't think he's losing much sleep at night.

RavenLabratories

I don't think he was ever in that conversation either, I just think he probably has fewer regrets about the way his career turned out than the vast majority of his contemporaries.
