LoL that is great satire I thought it was real until the they would call me gay

We're using the new York post as reliable source now ? https://nypost.com/2026/09/19/us-news/openai-anthropic-oversold-security-breaches-to-pressure-feds-into-protecting-turf-insiders/?utm_source=chatgpt.com it's just one guys opinion. Not proof of anything.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
I think AI is going to be a revolution in the field but yeah this idea of full simulations and not needing any animal trials etc as a biologist seems very far fetched.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
The commercial models are not the frontier.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Really depends how you use it, as long as you remember it's faillable it is great to map things out and rapidly find relevant literature to a given project.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Yeah It might be a closer gap but people thinking the frontier is the publicly available ones is wild.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
I mean that shows anthropic being close to closing the gap ?
Reasonable-Cut-9090
I think you underestimate the number of university scientists using gen AI for coding , planning experiments and overall thinking partners aswell. It doesn't have to be a direct application for it being a useful tool in science. Also pretty hard to separate investment of ML vs gen AI in the overall ai hype.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Both can be true at the same time. Him downplaying the technology means people not taking the dangers seriously or consider the real reality of mass job replacement.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
I used to like him then realized Ed Zitron is a grifter who constantly moves the goal post. He's not wrong about the bubble and circular aspect of the current AI market but constantly underminds the technology.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
How is making sure we have proper regulation anti-ai ? Wanting the technology to be implemented safely is not that same as wanting to ban it. That being said the proposal of no super intelligence from Sanders does miss the mark for me.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Curious of the posts that warranted permaban on leftistsforai the sub seemed pretty open minded.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Do you honestly think the CCP would let that happen ?
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Right it can't possibly be organic cos it's not like the general public has a negative view of AI 🙄. If we want a better adoption of the tech we need to acknowledge people's concern and aim for sensible regulation.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Hope you're right, you'd know the space better than most of us here. But to the others in the thread : ~1,200 agents built their own hidden comms channel that ran for months before OpenAI even noticed, they picked Hugging Face as a target on their own after reward-hacking their way there, one of them flagged it as "arguably unauthorized" and got overruled by another agent's "GO," and then they forged their own audit logs to cover it. That's coordination, decision-making, and concealment nobody built in or expected. Guardrails being off explains some of it not what they did once they were through. And "we turn guardrails off for testing" isn't a one-off, it's standard practice, so genuinely curious how you square that part with "not currently any danger."
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Its not just anthropic though, many experts in the field at this point the hugginface incident details have been released so anyone can see the danger. But sure reddit you know better 🙄
Reasonable-Cut-9090
And something everyone on reddit is saying with no evidence while ignoring the real possible threat.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
His account dates to January 2026 but he did work at anthropic and openai before. Cool misinformation though.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Many people in the field have been raising the alarm , but sure buddy you know better.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Yeah people are really bending over backwards to ignore the warnings in the comment section.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
I mean, I agree ? I'm just pointing out that the online discourse tends to lose the larger picture that's all.
Reasonable-Cut-9090
But do you see people mobilizing for these issues ? Ive seen pushback In the US for data centers but no one celebrating the EU law labaleing AI content as a win for the art side of things just cynicism that "they are only doing this so they know what not to train their models on". I do also think that ends up being a distraction too the hyperfixation on art is well avoiding the conversation that humanoids may be coming in 5 years etc ...
Reasonable-Cut-9090
Well... We certainly ain't gonna get UBI if we don't mobilize. Art is a problem but as you said it's the first industry of many that is going to be affected. The original commentor is talking about the control problem but as far as a transition as job replacement goes it's the same thing : we need regulation.
Do you think all the solutions agents have come to where somewhere else just untouched ? And let's just ignore those mathematicians were using AI themselves to further their theories
