Nobody likes the metaverse but social VR is very much a thing: https://metrics.vrchat.community/?orgId=1
Turns out if you give people a lot more freedom and features and less Facebook it is a lot better.
Had a lot of fun experiences in VR and a lot of IRL friends that I met up with as well.

I find terminal bench 4 to be the most representative benchmark so far and... It doesn't seek to be doing great there. Frontiercode is also good. DeepSWE seems like a joke nowadays.

You say swiss resident, but you don't currently have a passport of any country right?
What permit did you have in Switzerland? I would assume some kind of paperwork exists somewhere that would allow you to possibly get back if you could attain possession.
Are you a minor or legal adult?
Do you have some level of independent financial means or none at all?
RedlineTriad
How do you mean? Make it manged by the state, or go full Anarcho capitalism and just let people opt out?
Could be interpreted either way but I hope you mean the first.

Surprised nobody mentioned it yet: Closing hospitals and centralizing care.
Denmark did this to reduce costs. Regional hospitals can be nice. but don't have specialists available, have more overhead, have less predictable patient load and worse outcomes for specialized treatments.
In Switzerland no Gemeinde wants to have to travel, no Canton lose its hospital, which increases costs significantly because it is simply less efficient in modern medicine where evermore specialization and infrastructure is required.
Maybe centralizing mandatory insurance would work to reduce marketing spend, duplicated Software Development and all the other management overhead, but this wouldn't make a large difference.
In Switzerland AHV doesn't have a cap on contributions but health insurance cost does (when you pay the "full" cost). In Germany their equivalent of the AHV had a cap on contributions (income above ~100k), but their medical costs are full progressive with no limits unlike ours.
We could make it a fixed percentage of income or something but that wouldnt reduce the actual spending, just shift the money around. Increasing taxes and then changing subsidy structure would be equivalent.
Healthcare is expensive, labor costs in Switzerland are expensive, both keep going up and so is the average age + expected care and treatments, and we will either have to accept it, grow the rest of the economy quickly enough, make it more progressive, or make actual changes to improve efficiency.
Though ironically making the economy and productivity grow is part of the issue because of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baumol_effect so that might not even help very much, though maybe attracting foreign talent somewhat decreases the effect?

Not to spoiler too much, but this is a nice short story I read based on that premise: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/64851/to-run-again

Have taken Finnish people to saunaare, they gave them 5 stars.

You can do everything using: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/beyond-cubed-git
Works much better than the official one, it's your own risk though of course.
I use: + 7900XTX, 9050X3D + CachyOS + Monado + Xrizer + Proton GE RTSP + Beyond Cubed + EyetrackVR beta version with custom tweaks for calibration on Linux + WayVR + VRCX + LVRA wiki tweaks for bsb2e umod rules
And some unrelated custom stuff for heart rate and such.
And a custom taskbar item to manage startup and shutdown.
Pretty good performance and not even that bad to set this all up since not all of it is needed and there are air packages for pretty much everything.
Eyetracking is the most annoying part.

Terminal bench V4 and frontiercode are the most real world coding benches and those are the ones it sucks on, probably still not very nice to use.

Went to a few meetups and got one good friend out of it and a more casual aquintance.
Got quite a few online friends through other channels though, a few of them swiss and even more abroad.
RedlineTriad
Not as familiar with the legal side / what the organizations accept.
But I will mention that I have friends in similar situations that have found social VR to be a very useful social outlet when movement, energy and independence is restricted.
Of course doesn't address the root cause, but if you have any questions or things you are curious about I'd be more than happy to answer.

Swiss German breaks the double meaning:
D-2: vorgester
D-1: gester
D0: hüt
D+1: morn
D+2: übermorn
And morning is: Morge
Caveat: might depend heavily on dialect, but all the ones I know are like this.

That is Blackstone, a different company.

If you like learning Mandarin you can probably also get some practice by using language exchange apps, meetups, or depending or even something like VR language exchange communities.
Of course language tutors can help a lot but if you just like to learn languages and feel like you need to justify the expenses to yourself then I think those might be a better option.
RedlineTriad
Hmm, depending on what you want to do r/VRchat might be interesting source of information, though maybe not many participants. There is a very large language learning community in VRChat.
The most common ones being English and Japanese, but German is also up there I think.
Native, so couldn't even participate myself.

The prince of Liechtenstein is the only noble in Europe with significant influence. Even described by the BBC as an absolute monarchy because the prince can veto basically anything and dismiss the government.
It is also a direct democracy at the same time. One of the weirdest forms of government, especially since they held referendums to give the prince more powers.

Not always true. Especially because not everything is economically efficient or rational.
Taxing crime works to a degree (fines), but creating a murder tax would have little effect. Sometimes, making things more convenient, creating public information campaigns, punishment, or other options can be more effective, or used as a supplement.
Especially in small markets it might not be worth it for a third party to try and exploit the market inefficiency of people ignoring the incentives.

Rent isn't that bad in relation to salaries, even when compared to other European countries. Home ownership is a bit more difficult because of low interest rates and high investment from pension funds and other parties.
Health care: Definitely an issue, doctors also haven't seen much wage growth for a long time. Aging population and higher standard of care will put pressure on all systems in Europe. Rising costs somewhat more transparent in Switzerland though due to payment model.
Child care: Problematic for many families. Double working parent households are becoming more common. Plus, some of the systems are made for a stay at home parent.
Pension insurance, as mentioned by someone else, is among the best financed and secured in Europe because apart from the unfunded pension (ahv) there is a proportionately large funded part (bvg). That together with the low level of net government debt (all levels of government debt - assets) and high skilled immigration means AHV is surprisingly well positioned.

Pricing Information and magic pass inclusion would also be useful.
And having a slider to filter for minimum km of resort size instead of binary options.

SteamVR is pretty broken in my experience and monado delivers a much better result: https://lvra.gitlab.io/docs/fossvr/envision/

They are just differing options targeted at different people, of course a yearly pass is cheaper than 12x1 month long ones. Everyone can buy all the tickets, foreigners can also buy the 1 year pass, it just rarely makes sense.
The only kind of exception might be the Gemeinde discount day passes, you might have to live there, but not sure.
RedlineTriad
Everybody can buy the half-fare card, generally just not worth it for short vacation stays.
Neither residency or citizenship is required, so this is just false as far as I know.

The "game" that keeps people the longest is probably vrchat. However it is definitely not for everyone. Here you can see the cross-platform player numbers: https://metrics.vrchat.community/
I hosted, made, and visited friends from a lot of different countries through vrchat at this point.
Terminal bench wasn't particularly good for at least a while but with 4.0 it became much better in my opinion.
