A rumble that sounded like the whole house was shaking. It was, it was an earthquake and as we are in Northern England, it was completely unexpected

I’ve never ever had a face to face conversation with him so I wouldn’t feel comfortable just turning up on his doorstep. I am just looking for things the group can send.

I’m a female and unfortunately the men don’t socialise so meeting him is not an option. Plus he’s already said he’s just not up to anything at the moment.
Totally get that some are suggesting taking him out but unfortunately that’s not an option for now

Lisa Rinna tries sooo hard doesn’t she…

🙏🏼 Fascinating about Scotland. I live in the North of England and literally didn’t realise this about their start times.

I honestly don’t think it’s necessarily age thing ( btw I’m 61F), I think it’s that we (as a society) literally don’t write as much as we used to before the explosion of computers and phones.
My tippy tappy skills on a keyboard are first class, yet if I have to write even in a birthday card, my hand starts to ache 🫣

Oppenheimer. God it was boring

My dad ( god rest his soul, born in 1925), drive for years without any sort of test.
When he finally took it ( the first time), the driving instructor after 15 minutes, asked my dad to pull over and switch off the engine.
“Mr XXX,” he said “I have a wife and two lovely children that I would like to be able to see tonight. For this reason, I am going to ask you to swap places with me and I shall drive us safely back to the test centre. I never want to see you at this test centre again until you have had even the barest number of lessons possible that will teach you how to drive”.
Even now I don’t know how true the story was but we absolutely loved him telling it to us as children 😂
RelationKindly
Absolutely. It would take a biblical plague to stop mine…

Yes and no.
If you were burning wood and paper no. Anything else, yes.
Also, you’ve already stated you had a LOT.
I think there needs to be more detail given.
I absolutely hate it when someone burns near me, the smell is pervasive and it lingers even when the door is shut.
I’m guessing the rude mother didn’t help either. Why on earth did she need to be rude? By your comments about too much to go to the tip, then it sounds like your bonfire was more than just the average fire.

Came back from a week there in September.
It’s absolutely heaving with people and whilst beautiful, there’s no way I’d spend four hours travelling to see it.
It’s a picture postcard town and France has many. Colmar for instance , for me, beats Annecy hands down.
And yes it’ll be way too cold to swim in March.
Stay in Paris the extra night.
The cat trail is lots of fun and free!!!
