That was my start in online spaces too, but not really the Internet.
RemyJe
In that context that’d have been the correct usage. Not as an alternate term for the Internet, but that was the promise the advent of HTML and the WWW brought.

Jojo bizarre adventure is a popular Manga (Japanese magazine/ comic). The creator, Hirohiko Araki, drew inspiration from funk and rock artist in the 70s and 80s.
No, I'm aware of that.
Girno Girvana Stand ability Golden Experience Requiem
I have no idea what this means.
I think you prince fans know the reference
I definitely don't.

Saw that tour in Chicago, at Soldier Field no less.
Best concert ever.
RemyJe
Yeah. I didn’t claim it was comparable.
30-40% is still what I would call popular. Not ubiquitous, but popular.
“Americans don’t own kettles apparently” from the parent comment wasn’t true, was my point.
RemyJe
American here. We’ve bought several over the years, and I know others that have them.
Amazing how that works.
Over 6 million are sold annually in the US.

Postgres docs are on the Postgres website. That’s true for many large projects like that, and they are the best source of information.
As for the “empty handed” responses, you 1) wouldn’t include the version of something when using `man`, and 2) `man -k` is helpful for finding commands relevant (or apropos) to the keyword you use.
`man -k postgres` should return a list of many man pages.

She actually has talent.

In 1980?

It’s even used in English that way too.

They absolutely often own electric kettles. It may not be as fast as 230V, but it’s still faster than a stovetop kettle.
RemyJe
Nothing beats a monolithic coffee.
Also, no.
Also, most use drip coffee makers. It’s brewed into a (typically glass) carafe, not a kettle.
Also, people who drink instant, or make tea, DO use stove top kettles to boil their water. I think while electric kettles are more popular outside the US, they are still quite popular here.
Also, many people use pod style brewers.
Also, many people have semi-automatic espresso machines.
Do all British people have bad teeth and say “Governor?”

Please don’t use LARP this way.
I get its use has expanded beyond literal larping, but save it for situations where it’s at least adjacent to what it actually means. Like former Secretaries of Homeland Security dressing up as a SWAT officer, etc.
This has nothing to do with figurative larping.
I not even a larper, I just find it ridiculous.
If English isn’t your native language, please, please, PLEASE do not learn it from social media.
RemyJe
Oops, thank you.
I tend to prefer kilo over human.

du -k /mountpoint | sort -rn
If you only have a single filesystem, then /mountpoint would be /.
This will sort in reverse order the directories and files under /mountpoint by how much space they are taking up.

Adaptation in evolution is not a response to the environment. Mutations happen - sometimes they’re beneficial and sometimes they aren’t. The changes that lead to survival are the ones that stay around.
RemyJe
Of course. You misunderstand. I’m not saying “don’t teach babies to sign.” I’m saying don’t think of it as “Baby Sign.” My brother and his wife taught my three CODA nephews to sign, just by using ASL, taking into account, of course, that they were babies, the same way hearing parents do with their babies. I’m not suggesting full-on conversations.

East of 65 and North of 94 would have been fine, too. (Basically Aetna and Miller.)
RemyJe
They already have been for a very long time.
RemyJe
Even with vines it’s bad. The missing word is “off.” It gives off. Or skip give altogether. We already have words to describe how something feels.
RemyJe
The only issue with “Baby Sign” is that you should just teach ASL, and call it that.
I’ve done so when making Not Another Cooking Show’s chili which calls for the onion, sweet peppers, and carrot to be diced very finely in a food processor. The vegetables wind up as tiny as the ground beef in the final product, with the carrots bringing sweetness. It also has your standard dried chilis as a base, and includes Mexican chocolate. It’s great as is or on chili dogs.
