It is "best practices" to have single "ground window" where all the ground leads meet and the conductor to the actual buried earth post or plate is a thicker gauge than the other ground wires terminating on the window.

RespectSquare8279

I'll take the risk of being jumped on but I would verify that the wiring for the bedroom is a thick enough gauge of wire for a 20 amp fuse. Regular wall socket circuits were usually 15 amp fuses.

RespectSquare8279

yes that fuse is blown,

That heater draws too much power for the outlet pictured, It is only rated for 30 amps and in alllielyhood so is the cable behind it as well as the breaker. Either find a lower amperage heater or completely rewire that circuit to at least 50 amps.

Shingles, metal, anything really where the water will flow towards a gutter. Builders ( good ones anyway) will know minimum pitch to frame the new deck for what kind of material. Standing seam metal roof can be as low as 1:12, corrugated metal roof 2:12 and shingle roof 3:12.

RespectSquare8279

Is this your "forever home"? If it is, I would at least get some quotes for putting slopes on those roofs so you can go with other roofing material options.

ICBC goes by the "Black Book Wholesale Value" for calculating that registration fee. It is easy enough for you to find out that number for your year, make, model, kms, options, condition, etc.

If that is an actual log cabin, don't do it. Get a good camera and feed the signal to a big screen TV on that wall. Unless that window is quadruple glazed with exotic gas your R value of that wall will be shot to shit.

Ditto on the commercial outlet. The spring retainers inside the socket that hold onto the prongs of the plugs are superior and don't go loose with repeated plug in /plug out cycles. .

BTW : is it really necessary to have multiple GFCI's on that one circuit?

The issue with water pipes freezing is the easiest of your problems to address. The answer is a "heat trace" cable. They come in various lengths and you spiral wrap them around the pipe you don't want to freeze. They come in all lengths but you just need a short one from your buried cistern so figure $50.00 ?

1) You want the 3 peak logo on the tires. They are better than the M&S. They have the winter tread but they also have the better rubber compounds for grip.

2) Consult the DriveBC.ca website before proceeding from Calgary and refresh at every stop along the way because conditions change from hour to hour.

The need to pay probably expired 2 years after the bill was sent in many places inCanada but it depends upon the province . Years ago the expiration on unpaid bills was much longer ( 6 years across the board). This question pops up in reddit at least 1 time per year. Here is the answer...

That is a bonehead answer.

Stats from the US Army Quartermaster: it takes approximately 1500 rounds from regular infantry to kill 1 enemy, for more elite troops, eg marines, it improves to 600 pounds.

RespectSquare8279

It should be safe. 50 years ago it might've been different.

In British Columbia 'mainland' means "not the island".

RespectSquare8279

Don't most RV's have a small propane furnace?

RespectSquare8279

No, mass events effect all utilities everywhere. During halftime the water pressure drops when the football fans visit the washroom to relieve their bladders they have been filling wth beer while the game is on. FACT.

RespectSquare8279

Looks like the work of amateurs not trying and who either got bored or ran out of material. This job is not finished, don't pay them until it is.

RespectSquare8279

I would be OK going to permanent standard time but only if it is the last "effing" time we are asked to.

RespectSquare8279

I think a complete "do over" is required and with acoustic sealant ( or another similar product) along all the edges. It has to be a barrier to water vapour, not a "speed bump" .

RespectSquare8279

This is the way to go.

BTW : The guy who wired in the pool should lose his ticket. Not labeling a major wiring change in a breaker box should be criminal.

No to the mirrors but light coloured surfaces underneath and behind are beneficial. There is lots of information about this online. Mirrors are never recommended due to the danger of overheating. Many successful BF installations are in front of fences and walls or over beds of white gravel.

RespectSquare8279

Yes, voltage on the output means nothing, there is no wear and tear on the electronics.

There will be gains with snow on the ground. Some guy on youtube is doing a long term study. It is doing vertical panels north/south as well as east/west. How much snow do you get there on the ground?
