I guess the reason I am getting Bratz vibes is because I could bet money on Mirror Mi’s social media being run by the Bratz social media person. It has that same cattiness.

And the Rainbow High vibes are because I’ve been in this sub from the start, and I saw this fandom in it’s youth be just as fucking unhinged lmao. I saw this sub chase somebody off reddit accusing them of being a zoophiliac pedo because they hung out in NSFW Skyrim subs. I saw them bully one of the mods into the ground just because mod was young and didn’t really know how to handle people discussing racism in RH.

The vibes of MM sub right now are the exact same vibes as 2021/2022 RH sub imho. I don’t think it’s exactly the same people but it’s definitely cut from the same cloth.

Seems a bit wild to be advertising a packaging design fail lol.

I didn’t project any ideological opposition onto you. I mused if you would dismiss other very uncommon sculpts as not BJDs either, when they definitely are BJDs since they share the jointing system. I chose humanoid dolls in that particular set of examples, since choosing animal or fantasy creature BJDs wouldn’t have been appropriate in immediate context. Again, my thought process was very simple and 1/6 brain-celled as you kindly put it. 🤷‍♂️

And of course, in my stupidity, I still don’t follow what fundamental trait a BJD has to have other than being ball-jointed. The shape of which parts it has and in what combination they are etc are all subject to change depending on artist and intent. I’ve told you three times now that I don’t understand what you’re alluding to, but you’ve done nothing but insult or goad rather than enlighten me what I’m missing from your pov so I can see what you mean.

It sounds like you want the conversation to be over - unless I don’t understand that either - so fair enough, I won’t ask for any further clarification, and we’ll leave the conclusion at me being too stupid to understand.

RodiShining

Nah, I’ll go with the “has 1/6 of a brain cell” because at this point I no longer even remotely understand what you’re driving at. You keep dancing around something whereas to me the whole thing is pretty simple; OP wants sculpts with things like top surgery scars, and they literally exist. They don’t have to be customised, and they’re also not exempt from being BJDs, they already and rather literally exist.

Doll does mean something, that’s why I listed dolls that exist, like the snakes and dragon BJDs that Whale Tower makes, which are exceptional sculpts and lovely dolls. It’d be a great loss to dismiss them. I didn’t list single piece plastic snakes which would be the equivalent of the dildo and toy sword in your example. It’s also why I originally listed sculpts/artists that OP might be interested in based on the things he stated. It’s really as simple as.

RodiShining

If it’s ball-jointed, then yes, it is a BJD. Sorry this is apparently a “one brain-celled take”. There are so many snake BJDs, dragons, ants, spiders, octopus, horses, etc. Doll Planet represents artists that make robots and machine BJDs. What’s on-topic for DOA isn’t the be-all-end-all of BJDs, nor is it applicable to this subreddit.

RodiShining

What? I genuinely don’t understand where you’re coming from or what you’re trying to say at this point, I’m not walking back anything at all. What I said isn’t incompatible with ball-joints being the common foundation of BJDs, and in fact only supports it. BJDs are wide and varied, but united in joint system.

If ball-joints aren’t the fundamental property of a BJD, what is?

RodiShining

That’s a lot of reaching from my comment.

OP is asking about dolls that exhibit the specific physical traits he’s interested in, he even names them. You said that he’d have to do it himself as it is not a characteristic in BJDs. That’s the one singular point I refuted. BJDs come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and looks and species, and the history (and present) of strung BJDs is far more diverse than say Den of Angel’s On-Topic criteria. OP has a lot more choice than simply having to do it himself.

RodiShining

The only fundamental characteristic of a ball-jointed doll is ball joints. That’s… that’s it. Everything else is changeable, they come in all sorts of materials, shapes, sizes, aesthetics. Have you seen the diversity of BJDs from Russia? There are BJDs from there that are literally cartoon genitalia with arms and legs.

I don’t disagree that it’s uncommon, but I really have to wonder if you’d make the same remark had OP asked for conjoined dolls or dolls that represent plus bodies.

Names are different things to non-names. Names are pronounced the way the person whose name it is has decided, and different people with the same name have different pronunciations.

The name Jean is a good example. Jean, pronounced jeen, is a real name and valid. Jean, pronounced jaun, is a real name and valid, and Jean, pronounced john, is a real name and valid. Usually pronunciation often depends on region, but it can be down to the owner’s choice too.

The people you know who call themselves Thiel with a thhhh sound are correct. That is their name. Peter Thiel being pronounced Teal is correct because that is his name. It’s really that simple.

I think Sheila has legitimately grown and I absolutely love her now. Her heart is always in the right place (these days), and she wants to support her kids, even if she can feel overbearing.

Gerald though? I struggle to see what Sheila must have originally seen in him, because he sure doesn’t have it anymore! He’s a pretty awful piece of work. But… eh, I guess maybe it’s more that originally they both sucked, but whilst she’s become a better person over time, he’s definitely become a worse one.

RodiShining

This. I can’t believe how many people somehow didn’t or refuse to pick up on this. The character is excellently written in his debut season and fucking hilarious to boot. He’s a really great fun jab at wanting to be a better person but trying too hard to the point of often causing harm instead. He never wanted to nor engaged in “crushing puss”, and was even upset when the bros he partied with started to make it clear they weren’t interested in actually being better so much as they were interested in getting laid. He’d been so blinkered by his efforts in social justice that he had inadvertently fostered the kind of environment he would be against.

Genuinely might be one of my favourite adult characters in South Park ever. I really hope there’s a payoff for his and Strong Woman’s turn in the current season.

RodiShining

Couldn’t agree more. Her and PC Principal are some of my favourite characters (and I hope they can stay that way depending on this season!) because they, at least at one point, truly believed in bettering themselves even though they were quite clumsy about it. It was a great poke of the kind of person who wants to be better but often tries too hard! It’s real and hilarious.

Seeing them both completely beaten down and radically changed by current events is really depressing. This is bordering on getting too serious but man I hope they can pull through, pick themselves back up and escape the cult.
