Loved the ending reveal. It was obvious to me that Zoe was the Manhunter from the moment she said that Will was dying and she "saved his life". Very clear layered wording. From there, we didn't know for sure it was her - we just had a feeling...just like John! Was cool for the show to acknowledge and respect our thinking like that.

"Rocky watch crew die. Rocky could not fix. Grace not go home. Rocky fix."
Rocky you beautiful bastard you made me cry multiple times

As a non-reader who just watched this episode, it was painfully obvious in the show. Anyone with a critical thinking brain would've figured it out the moment the Targs revealed that 2 of their sons were missing.

Agnes looks around at the audience and realizes that the entire world gets to share the burden of grief for her son. For now and all time to come. She breaks into a laugh. Cut to black. Absolute fucking cinema.

I love Noah Hawley, but action has never been his strong suit. This episode consisted more or less of just people having compelling conversations, and it was incredible.

The actors who play Slightly and Smee are so good at child-like mannerisms and enunciation. Extremely realistic dialogue for chilcren too ("bro, brooooo!") You pretty much forget they're adult actors.

Yeah man when Ellie read "use it to--" and then it cut to a close-up of "--keep Tess safe."
It hit really hard.

Dina slowly counting the number of clickers she heard was such a great moment. Every time her finger goes up, the tension rises roo. Then Dina loses count altogether, and you're like "oh everyone's fucked"

Stealth encounter at the radio station, Ellie getting a knife-to-the-neck kill, Dina using focused hearing, the Naughty Dog boost
This was a great gameplay episode

That scene blew my fucking mind when I saw it. At some point in the theater, I just started laughing to myself, simply because I couldn't believe what I was watching.

I hope this film gets a LOT of people into delta blues. It's a beautiful genre

Saw it in IMAX - the sequence where Sammie summons the spirits of future and past music had my fucking jaw on the floor. At some point I just started laughing my ass off, simply because I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Not sure what you meant in that first sentence, cause Abby's emotions in during the dad reveal don't match up with the player's at all. Anguish, grief, and rage ≠ oh holy shit I've gotten this whole thing wrong l
But regardless, my point is that the game had you side with one character, and then completely flip your perspective all on a dime at the halfway point. And it was extremely effective. But the show seems to be opting to sow empathetic conflict in the viewer from the very start of the season, and I wonder how well that will work compared to the game. We'll see.

Very interesting how they're building the viewer's empathy for Abby from the start. I'm curious to see how that'll play out vs seeing her as a full villain at the beginning of the game.
For me the reveal of Abby's dad being the doctor was a mind-blowing reveal that forced me to rethink everything I had just played on a dime. I wonder if that cold open will hurt the show's equivalent of that moment.

More importantly she says, "I know you had to, that you didn't have a choice"

Love how the last words of any speech that night were, "long live independent film."

"Thank you. I will drink until next morning."
- Oscar-winning writer/director Bong Joon-ho, shortly before drinking until next morning

The Leftovers is my favorite piece of art of any medium, of all time. But if you think it deserves to be on this list, then you either didn't read the title of the list, or you fundamentally misunderstand what the word "influential" means.
I really didn't think they'd be able to make Guy Gardner's bowl-cut ass work in a grittier, more grounded drama, but Nathan Fillion adapted his role into the perfect balance of absurdity and realness for this.
