I did a very basic test in PhotoCraft and Affinity.
Made some brush strokes with fairly large brush, around 430 pixel on a 4096x4096 in both tools.
Affinity did a nice, smooth stroke as expected, PhotoCraft’s stroke was segmented, as if it was made of a lot of overlapping single brushes pretty close to each other.

I’m fine with banning anything that made by AI, intended for AI, but “uses AI” is a pretty broad term.

Yeah, absolutely despiceble.

It’s not “random”, the studio called Platige Image, and it still exists

Jolly good!

I’m using alternatives already, depending on the environment or use case, I use Gimp, Krita, Affinity package, DXO PhotoLab, …

And Claude will break other parts while “fixing“ its own blunder.

How did you manage to get to that conclusion?

You can't be serious. FYI, Ikea have a bunch of patents on several inventions.

Adobe sued by several parties but I didn't find anything about using users' data for training. Feel free to link a relevant article if you have one.
As for AI tools in various software - as long as they're trained ethically I have no issue with them.
The "industry standard heavyweights" usually heavily invested in AI so quite obviously they try to justify the investment to their shareholders.

Again, blatantly copying something (including look and feel, workflow, and so on) is simply theft, making it free or even open source doesn’t make it right.
I hate adobe as much as the next guy, but as a developer I also despise these attempts and trying to sell it as “beneficial”.

Those ArtCraft things are pretty close to intellectual property theft, and vibe coded all the way, while Resolve adds AI based tools for a long existing software.
Not the same.
There’s no superiority complex here, vibe coded AI slop is simply inferior.
RufusAcrospin
I have one. Never used it.

There are already existing alternatives done by people and teams who actually care about their products.
These vibe coded slops might work to some extent but in no way they are viable replacements.

For that sort of tasks there are many legit tools, paid, free, open source even. Gimp, Krita, even Photopea, Affinity, etc.
AI slop should be the very last resort.
I’d love to see PhotoCraft’s performance when working on a 64K panoramic matte paint project with hundreds of layers.
That’s where the real challenge starts.
