The leaders of all those systems of governance were all united in one transcendent qualia: unlimited greed by the few. These are all systems that rewarded that greed, but with more or less limited social mobility between any given system. Any economic system that promotes greed as a virtue will lead to the same atrocities, and the same ultimate undermining; whether that be a social uprising a la the English revolution, a labour uprising like the USSR, or a fascist uprising like the Business Plot or the Night of the Long Knives or... you know, 2026.

Religion is a tool used by the leaders to consolidate power and to prevent unity amongst labour. But it's just a tool. The USSR was also a country lead by the most greedy and selfish and violent people in history, but it was also intensely atheist at its core. Did that prevent it from undermining itself due to its own greed? No, the greedy sabotaged the nation to loot the remains after it imploded.
