Inventory management just sucks in GK2 (self.GraveyardKeeper) [Graveyard Keeper 2]

I fixed it in the unity key mapping file the game uses. This should be fixed in game. I can't be the only one who has done this.

Hey, those hesitations are 100% valid. Don't be afraid to get a licensed therapist to help you deal with this and come to terms with your new normal. It was devastating to me, being youngish and dealing not just with the physical issues but also the cognitive issues that can come along with PD sometimes. I'm completely out, but I also don't work anymore.

I suggested tavern over DL is because tavern really is much more TTRPG leaning. If you are bigger into wargaming the DL is a better choice. YMMV.

I'd be happy to be 48 again. Old timer here too at 54. Earthdawn. Alas, I don't have a seat for you in my Star Wars WEG D6. If you aren't afraid to get out there, I'd check out The Emerald Tavern in North Austin. I always have great conversations with random strangers there.

I'm good with some pain and installed the sort mod and the mod that pushes the thing to the correct bag, totally worth it for me. I usually don't install any mods at all until I've done a complete run-through on vanilla, but this was just driving me up a wall. Same thing with Factorio, unsorted storage sucked for me, but my therapist got a nice bump for a month!

Jesus, man, I said a little OCD. I've only spent about 10 hours out of my 80-hour run sorting through all the stuff in my inventory. You don't know me at all, so don't assume anything about me. I have young-onset Parkinson's with mild cognitive impairment. I suffer from a whole raft of cognitive issues. I have two neurologists, one who focuses specifically on movement disorders. Fortunately, they don't think I have louye body dementia because my symptoms are progressing slowly. I'm very open about this, but I don't lead with my medical history or jump on people when they think they have PD because their hands shake a bit.
Yeah, I didn't take an internet quiz. Lighten up, Francis.

I'll check them out thanks!
SQLServerIO
yep loads of them

It's not a hard no, but I don't use computers/tablets/phones at the table. I keep my character up to date, but I print it out to play at the table. If the DM wants to use a digital tool for the game (I have a friend with a TV gaming table and uses VTT tools), it's fine, but I have never seen a scenario that required real-time digital sheets.

Celebrate all the little wins! I love seeing new players hit every milestone for the first time. I'm about 3k hours into the game and still resist just looking up stuff or blueprints. Figuring this stuff out is half the fun for me. The other half is keeping biters from tearing down my stuff!
SQLServerIO
Yeah, we have a ton of half-price books here but they price the TTRPG stuff at ebay prices. They use to be an awesome place to find stuff now not so much.

Spending hours coming up with a solid plan to deal with the bandits blockading the city, before the NPC leading the few soldiers we had with our caravan said something about the bandit camp, we promptly handed our plan off to the NPCs, leaving any support we had, and charged off into something we knew almost nothing about. Now we just cut out the planning, charge in, make sure we split the party, and try not to die. It's big fun.

OH! I love this! As a DM this is a super easy problem to solve. If the player is willing to "play his character," then I'm willing to let him do so, with all the consequences that come with it. The fact that you managed to come up with an in-game solution speaks volumes about you as a person and a player. I'd be interested to hear whether that agreement sticks. As a DM, I'd let him run. Like a kid with scissors, RUN RUN! Let him get far enough from the party, then hit him with a group of monsters that use pack tactics to tear him up. There is a reason you travel with a group. Safety is near the top of that list. Hell, most of my monsters/NPC's aren't stupid. They will gladly target healers and spell casters first. Good times for sure.

Start with the base game. It will last you for years. I have thousands of hours in the base game. The DLC isn't going anywhere, and you aren't going to miss out.

Yeap. It's a pain in the ass. They won't auto-refill my PD meds. I have to request them like magically I'm not going to have PD anymore. They are also spread out; even though I signed up to have them synced, I still have to go to the pharmacy multiple times to pick up my meds. Seeing as I take them 5 times a day and there are 16 of them, it feels like a full-time job just staying on top of them.

Western Digital had stopped PATA drive support earlier than some others. Seagate and Hitachi stayed in the game the longest. I have seen the 750GB Seagate drive in the wild. Some PATA drives stayed to just service industrial customers. I've also seen SATA drives adapted to PATA due to the age of the equipment. As best as my fuzzy brain remembers from back then. I worked at computer stores and eventually Dell during that time frame.

Oh, there is crunch. 3rd edition worked out all the kinks I had with it from 1st and 2nd. I wasn't a fan of the later stuff. I have a friend running 3rd right now his group is having a good time with it. I put Lancer on the read list!
SQLServerIO
I do dig Shadowrun the most. Cyberpunk is also solid. I've never heard of Lancer, though.

I'm a very vivid dreamer and have always been. I also have REM behavioral disorder. It's bad enough that I throw myself out of bed regularly. I haven't punched my wife yet, so that's something. Sometimes I do have PD in my dreams. It may be very exaggerated, too. I also have dreams where I'm like my pre-PD self. I don't keep a dedicated sleep journal, but I will take notes from time to time. I started having PD symptoms in my mid 40's and was diagnosed four years ago at 50, if that matters at all 😆

I have a pdf that I print out and track for daily stuff. I bring it to my appointments so I'm not like, "I feel like blah blah blah." They get solid data points and not just what they are seeing every three or four months. I'm a data guy, so I'll also plot this into spreadsheets and the like for my enjoyment. If your dr. isn't interested in your journals, find a new dr. I do this now for all of my doctors. All of them are grateful for the info. Some like the summarization some like the raw data.

I have PD with MCI (mild cognitive impairment). As others said, you need to get a neuropsych eval done to assess fully. I was a CTO and just couldn't keep up. I also have emotional deregulation, so I cry a lot- happy, sad, doesn't matter. Getting healthy has improved my symptoms, and I use tools like Grammarly, along with other AI tools, to help manage things. I've come to accept my condition, but I won't lie, I miss who I was. I had to leave my job at 50 because I couldn't keep up, and no one wants to see a grown man cry all the time. My family and I have a great sense of humor, and that helps quite a lot.

Brings back memories. I use service these servers. The 2200 and 2300's were workhorses. It was super cool when they went from the beige to the black case color.
The drunk thing yeah. My meds are pretty good at keeping my hand tremors to a minimum but my balance is still hot garbage. This translates into weaving around and generally looking a bit drunk. Oh well, as long as I'm able to keep from crashing into the shelves what they think is a them problem. If I see someone really eyeballing me I'll say something like Picked a hell of a day to quit drinking.
