I would guess the viewfinder ribbon cable which is a known issue for the vx but I don’t know if it could affect the tape deck

I’ve tried with my brand new tv which has rca inputs and a old cathode tv, I haven’t got any video feedback :/
Unless you’re using a tapeless device using the FireWire port just use tapes with this camera
